DVD : Batman - The Movie (Special Edition)

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Movie
My grandson loves this movie. When I watch it with him, you can certainly see the difference in todays shows and back in the 60's and 70's. Then we wonder why so many kids have attitudes? I much prefer to let children watch some of the old reruns and the Nogin learning channel as opposed to the new released violent movies or even cartoons.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Oldie!
This is the best movie from the older times. The humor and graphics do together on this film. A must for anyone's collection!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Perfect Buy! (Blu-Ray Review)
To all those who are contemplating getting this on Blu Ray, a word of advice...Go get it NOW!
I have to hand it to Fox with this one. Even though I'm a staunch fan of the darker interpretation of Batman (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in particular) I still believe that this film holds a place in history.
I loved this movie as a child, I hated this movie as a teenager. It represented a campy version of my favorite Super Hero and frankly, comparing it to the likes of "The Killing Joke" & "Arkham Asylum" is unacceptable to an avid Batman comic reader. The Turning point was when I picked up a compilation of "Batman in the 60's" from a local book store. It was then when I realized that The Batman TV Series was nothing short of a page by page interpretation of the what the comic books were back then...so in essence, this is as true an adaptation of the characters, it's just from a different era. To me...that commands respect. I loved this movie as child, hated it as a teenager and love it as an adult....What goes around comes around I guess!!
The Blu Ray disc is spectacular. There are 3 amazing new documentaries (in addition to those of the 2001 DVD release). The 1st about the series itself and its influences, the 2nd about The Allies and the 3rd about the rogues (don't miss Caeser Romero's mustache). It has the original commentary with Adam & Burt, and a new commentary track with the director. It also includes an audio track with an isolated background score. Its a treat for all those who missed buying the "limited to 3000 copies" Soundtrack by Nelson Riddle. The 2 coolest features on this disc have to be...
1. The Interactive Batmobile Tour: You can check out the intricacies of the famous car from every angle with detailed description of each gadget as you go along. If you a fan of the car, there is nothing better than this....and the tour is in Full HD.
2. The Audio of the feature itself is in DTS-HD. Now I haven't upgraded my amp yet, still using an amp with Standard Dolby Digital-Ex and DTS-Es. Never the less, the audio of the film kicks a**. I was blown away, and for once the studio has emphasized on remastering the sound effects and not just the background score. When you hear "the turbines to speed", well...you'll understand why i'm saying this. Needless to say the picture in HD is nothing short of perfect too!

All in all, A PERFECT BUY!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Bat-spray, ladder, fan club helicopter! Oh my god.
Na na na na na na Batman! Im back and ready for this movie featuring the second caped crusader (Adam was not the first). In this movie there are four villians. The Riddler played by the late Frank Gorshin, Catwoman played by Lee Meriwether, Penguin played by Burgess Meredith, and the Joker played by Cesar Romero. Batman played by Adam West and Robin played by Burt Ward are great in this classic campy movie. This movie is overacting at its best. Its great and will be great in your Batman collection. I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Next time Ill be reviewing Batman the animated series season 1. POW! WHAP! GONE!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Batman the movie
This will take you back a while, it is very funny. Even my adult kids love this movie
