Continuing (I'am not making this up) Selina Kyle is brought back to life by Cats then she becomes Catwoman. The Penguin's gang places a bomb on the Batmobile Batman is then framed by Penguin for kidnapping & killing the Ice Princess Batman overcomes it like always & during this Penguin has control over the Batmobile Batman records what the Penguin says & later uses it to ruin his Mayoral bid. Penguin goes ahead with his plan all along to kill all 1st born sons of Gotham.Batman Returns is a good sequel it's enjoyable it's not as good as the 89 movie or The Dark Knight but a good sequel. Back in 92 there was some controversy about the dark tone to the movie thanks to soccer moms & I liked the tone to the movie. It was teens & adults that made up the audiences for the 89 movie & Batman Returns anyway. BTW do some d**n parenting soccer moms.

First and foremost, this is a great film that portrays the Dark Knight in a sinister setting with fantastic movie sets and an amazing score by Danny Elfman - all prerequisites to a blockbuster. Then there's the cast. Jack Palance, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger, and - uh, er...Michael Keaton??? Before I say more, I'll just say that Mr. Keaton is a phenomenon when it comes to acting talent - his contribution to comedic film-making is almost peerless. But, what were these people in casting thinking when they cast Michael Keaton as the Batman/Bruce Wayne? There was an obvious motive to casting that was designed to appeal to a certain audience through name recognition - it just had to have been. Rationale? None that I can think of - they could have easily cast Paul Reubens, aka Pee-Wee Herman, as Batman and achieved the same thing - or maybe Toby Maquire? At least it would be nice to see somebody cast as a superhero that could have some reasonable expectation of whipping somebody's butt - right? - instead of somebody you can picture turning different shades of purple trying to get a lid off a jar of pickles... It's just a struggle to watch this picture with a straight face given all or its other fine qualities and other well-cast acting talent.
The nice thing about this beautiful Blu-Ray offering is that it is so clear and crisp that there is a moment that you actually think maybe they can morph some other believable, muscular talent in the lead role - but, alas, we're stuck - talk about your suspension of disbelief!

This Blu-ray Disc is region-free and will play fine in U.S. model players. The extras from the 2-disc DVD are here, and in NTSC (so those will play, too). This is also uncut, unlike previous home video versions of the film in the U.K. (a scene where Catwoman puts aerosol cans into a microwave was originally cut in the U.K. but it's present here). This disc is probably identical to the one that will eventually be released in the U.S. (it even has the FBI warnings). Picture quality is terrific and a noticeable improvement compared to the DVD. As someone else noted, this movie looks better on Blu-ray than Batman (1989). Highly recommended.

This movie looks much better than the initial Keaton Batman...on Blu-Ray. THey have imported over all the bonus features from the 2 disc DVD edition so this happily replaces that edition with improved picture and sound. I'm very pleased to have these on Blu-ray and if you are a fan I can't imagine you being disappointed. Like the first one its aspect ratio is 1:85 so it fills up your widescreen TV perfectly and from the Penguins nasty teeth to Catwomans red lips...Hi-def really makes this one jump!
Purchased from amazon.co.uk for about 12 pounds..plays fine on my sony player.
