Justice League Unlimited Episode: Clash

Shazam! Captain Marvel vs Superman
That's right the first appearance of Captain Marvel on television since the 1980's was not wasted as Captain Marvel and Superman go out in a fight worthy of the big screen. Oh how I wish this was made into a movie. It had the most awesome fight scene of the WB animated history. Superman and Captain Marvel punched each other through building after building demolishing skyscrapers that were part of Lex Luthor's new town project.

Lex and Cadmus orchestrated a clever scheme to make Superman believe a bomb was about to go off during a charity celebration. While Superman was intent on destroying the device Lex pleads for Superman to believe it is an energy device. Captain Marvel willing to give Lex the benefit of the doubt tries to stop Superman which starts the fight of the century.  It is revealed once and for all on this episode that Amanda Waller (see Ultimatum ) and Lex Luthor on definitely working together. Although Captain Marvel quits the League at the end of this episode, we can only hope he will return in later episodes.

Possible Goofs
Although the scenes of mass destruction were awesome, it might be said that it's doubtful that Superman would carelessly destroy so many buildings. Of course the buildings were not occupied yet and did belong to Lex Luthor, but the damage Superman and Captain Marvel caused was probably more than the possible threat Superman perceived with the bomb threat. Of course that being said, this small plot problem is worth it to see Superman and Captain Marvel go at it the way comic book fight scenes should be.
