Dr. Hamilton is back but something is definitely wrong with the good doctor. Lex Luthor calls him to his mansion to let the good doctor go.  Dr. Hamilton doesn't like being fired so he heads off down the road in the middle of the night. Shaking very badly and apparently in need of medical attention. The Dr. accidentally runs a man off the road into a corn field. Luckily, Pete Ross drives by and notices the accident. But to Pete's surprise it's not just an accident he finds but a strange looking spaceship, Clark's rocket ship.

Pete grabs Clark at the Kent farm to help load his prize. Clark tries to talk Pete into bringing it to the Kent farm to no avail. But at least he keeps him from talking to the Nation Enquirer.  Meanwhile the Doctor visits the man in the hospital he ran off the road and murders him to prevent the man from talking about the space ship.

Clark and Jonathan check on the space ship but its missing from Pete's shed, but all Pete sees is Clark and Jonathan driving off from the shed. Pete confronts Clark but doesn't believe Clark when he claims innocence to taking the ship. Pete tells Clark he's going to tell Chloe. Leaving Clark no choice, Clark decides to stop Pete and tell him the truth.  Using his super strength he  physically stops Pete's car. After a brief explanation, Pete seems hurt and confused that Clark hid this amazing secret from him for so long.

Dr. Hamilton goes back to the Luthor mansion to demand the key to the space ship to no avail. The doctor runs into Lionel there and brings him to the space ship. The doctor hopes Lionel can get him the key, but he tells the doc if he can find the key, he might get the funding he needs for his experiments.

The doc kidnaps Pete, and confides to him that he's dying as his shaking continues to get worse. Clark arrives just in time to save Pete from getting a kryptonite injection, but the kryptonite begins to affect him draining him of his strength. The doc tries to kill Clark with liquid kryptonite, but Pete is able to knock him out.

The doc goes into a major fit of the trembles much like Earl Jenkins in the episode Jitters. Pete pronounces the doctor dead and drags Clark to safety from the effects of the kryptonite. The Kents welcome Pete to the family, while Lionel Luthor is perplexed by the disappearance of the ship.  Lex asks his father to continue his therapies to assist Lionel in his recent blindness, but no way. Lionel wants to know about the mysteries of Smallville.

Pete and Clark end the episode with a friendly basketball game. Pete dares Clark to use his powers. So Clark  makes a dunk that would make Michael Jordan jealous.
