This episode is one fans waited for. Clark discovers a new power. The power of heat vision. Sitting in class while watching a sex education film. Clark turns around to look at the new teacher. A teacher that ain't too bad looking. A woman who has already put the moves on Lex Luthor and intends to be his future wife. The air conditioning isn't working and everyone is sweating. Somehow Clark's teenage hormones cause him to activate this hidden power of heat vision and that's all she wrote for the class film. The screen catches on fire and everyone is evacuated. Clark gives new meaning to Van Halen's old song "Hot for Teacher".

Clark's teacher Desiree

Nice car!

Desiree and Lex Luthor

Lex shows up to spill the big news that he's marrying Desiree. Apparently she has a supernatural ability to control men, and she's after Lex's money.  And Lex does indeed marry her.

Later at the farm the Kent's take Clark's new ability in stride. Jonathan tells Clark they'll just have deal with it the way they have Clark's other abilities. Unfortunately talking to Lana cause another fire. This time its at the Talon. Clark decides its too dangerous for him to go to school. Jonathan has Clark practice on a scarecrow. 5 scarecrows, 2 water barrels, and their mailbox later, Clark learns to control his heat vision.

Clark barbecues a scarecrow with his heat vision

Desiree puts the moves on Clark, but Clark is immune to her super charm abilities.  Clark tries to tell Lex, but he believes Desiree, even though Clark has found out that Desiree has an alias. Desiree retaliates by having Lex close down the Talon, Lana's business, and framing Clark for blowing up her car.

Jonathan tries to confront Desiree but she puts the whammy on him. She orders Jonathan to shoot Lex down, so she can get his money. Fortunately Clark arrives in the nick of time as usual and stops Pa Kent from killing Lex. Clark uses his new heat vision to melt the bullet fired by Jonathan's rifle in midair.  Desiree tries to set Lex on fire but Clark is able to put him out while heating up the door knob so its too hot for Desiree to escape.

As they might of said on the Dukes of Hazzard " Oh shoot, Bo!"

Clark gets off the hook, Desiree's evil plot is thwarted, Lex files for annulment to his marriage, and all is right in Smallville again.

This episode ends with Lana finishing up  a video tape for Whitney.  She gives the impression that their relationship may be over, but the credits roll before we can hear the whole thing. What we do hear is " We promised we would be honest to each other and the truth is..."
