During a robbery, Clark shoots his heat vision at one of the robbers, but a piece of Kryptonite gets in the way, causing the heat vision to bounce back into Clark's eyes making him blind. Fortunately, Clark's super hearing kicks in for the first time to make up for it.

Clark's super hearing clues him in to Chloe's involvement with Lionel Luthor, which causes a pretty big argument between Chloe and Clark.

Afterwards, Pete Ross is kidnapped by the robbers. Clark must learn to focus his super hearing to get around to save Pete. Jonathan and Martha lend a hand with his training and Clark gets the hang of it, but he fails the first time to save Pete. Luckily, his vision comes back but he has to wear glasses for the first time.  Perhaps this is Clark's inspiration for the use of glasses as a disguise in his future Superman years.

I can't believe he's wearing glasses!

Clark finally saves Pete just in the nick of time from being crushed by car compactor at the junk yard. In order to protect Clark's secret, Pete has to take credit for saving himself, which helps him get a date.

Lana and Clark's relationship still goes nowhere as Lana drives off from the Kent farm crying, which Clark hears with his now super hearing.

Wow glasses!

Music from "Whisper"

"Cold and Empty" by Kid Rock -- Played at the very end of the episode, as Lana is leaving.
