no he did'nt die ( read the novel, im n2 books, not somic books)
he did actually die, but they made the mistake of burying him underground so he couldnt soak up the suns rays cuz hes like a big solar battery ( thats the short story )
well, what happened in the book ( The Death And Life of Superman, by ____ Stern )
was that Pa Kent still alive and kicking, had a heart atack, clark had already died
and Johnathon was awestruck 2 meet his son in the world beyond
like void but switched around
he brings his sons soul bac from the dead ( kinda) long story
meanwhile...in metropolis and suicide slums, 4 superbeings emerge: The Eradicator ( a piece of kryptonian hardware basically )Superboy ( supermans clone that the creator of doomsday co-created )Supergir( a female version of supes, from an alternate dimension, currently dating lex luthor )The Man of Steel ( a scientist dude ) and Cyborg ( no, not victor stone, this Cyborg is now just a piece of machinary that has little or no soul left of the man scientist he used 2 b b4 bcoming part of his spacestation after he tried 2 kill superman and he through him out n2 space )(hes the BAD guy)
so ya, thats basically it
the Eradicator helps supermans spirit after Pa Kent pulled it out to find his body and get it n2 the sun
