SupermanTV.net Forum / Superman / Lois and Clark / lois and clark versus smallville

i was in my teens when i first watch lois and clark, so  i guess it was like "smallville" for me. I watched Smallville, but it could never measure up to Lois and Clark. I just loved how it protected the weak, and was merciful to bad. I got picked alot at school at that time, and it showed me a great example to follow. However i can never relate to recent Smallville, he is like the popular kid, whose good looks, is potrayed more in camera work. Than any real clark kent.

what you guys think, which is the better clark?

i think both clarks are very good but i think the villains he faces on smallville are much cooler than the ones on lois and clark on lois and clark he's always going up against doctors, scientists, gangsters, and billionaires on smallville he faces people with real physical powers and i believe that a hero has got be as good as the villain so i like smallville's clark more

When Smallville first came on Clark wasn't mister popularity. In fact the football team had it in for him especially on the first episode.

I like both shows a lot, but each in their own way because they have their own feeling to them. Lois and Clark became more of a kids show for adults while Smallville relates more to teens. I have to say I really miss Lois and Clark being on the air but it's those Smallville episodes that got me feeling like I just couldnt wait to see what's coming up next. But darn it, the actors of Lois and Clark were really good. It's like comparing apples and oranges or for me fried chicken and a meat lovers pizza.

yeah i guess you right Tim, i guess they have to make Clark character relate to teens. But what about his boy scout ideals, that is what Supermans all about, not abusing his powers. i wish the Clark Kent in Smallville  had more deeper personality that reflected his ideals, thatn his looks.

Well you know I think alot of times I think, in real life teenagers and people in the early 20's are still defining themselves. It isn't until the late twenties early 30's sometimes that people tend to regain all the ideals they were taught as children by their parents. As we get older we get more responsible and sometimes our parents even seem to get smarter.

But I think for the sake of moving forward it's time that Clark starts to become more confidant in his ideals and lose some of that teenage angst and start being more of a leader. I think we've already seen some signs of Clark's growing maturity on last season.

Well said Tim !

It is all a matter of maturity.

Personally I liked Teri H as Lois. I was happy to see them finally get together, but I think that is when the show jumped the Shark. The suspense was gone then about "Will they get together"

i am a smallville fanatic but i think lois and clark was also good for it's time smallville relates more to teens and u just have to ask yrself what a teenager who was from another planet would feel like clark in smallville shows he's not perfect and can actually frustrate u most of the time
