I presumed that everyone knew the symbol at the beginning stood for Zod.

I wasn't sure anyone could read that style of kryptonese, looks like I have to work harder.

Buy Season 1 so you know the whole backround of the show. See it from the very and true begining.
Holy crap Supergirl06 and Mattro  get a room, lol, just kidding.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed the epsiode, and I'm sorry for the few who were dissapointed. For them, We at Smallville apolgise for not getting you excited as the rest, but like Miles said, "we can't please everyone, but we sure can try, cause that's what makes the show go on." Everyone, I hope you enjoy the rest of the season. Peace out for now.

Hey Everyone,

The Mighty Season 6...holy crapolla!  Since I'm coming in on page 5(!) of this thread, I'm gonna ssume that most of the gushing has already been done everywhere else...and rightly so - lol!  This opener totally lived up to the expectations set up by the end of season 5.

The thing that tickles the back of my mind, though, is that I wonder if Clark is going to make the connection that, being equally matched against Zod/Lex in that fight, that he has the ability to fly!  And if that's something that he'll consciously try to develop, especially with the knowledge that, as "Kal-El" at the beginning of season 4, that he was able to fly.  Can't wait to find out about that.

AND...the fact that Zod adapts so quickly and easily to his powers, where in Superman II, when they escape the phantom zone, the fact of their 'new' powers comes as a surprise to the three villains...waddup wi' dat?  Anyone care to hazard a guess/explanation for these anomalies?

BurningInEl out!

BurninginEl...

In the movie they were surprised and quickly adapted, the same way Lex did. Zod was either already aware or quickly caught up by Milton Fine.

As a side note, earlier incarnations of Superman couldn't fly either. He just made rediculously long leaps, bounding across neighborhoods and such.

For a rather lengthy history/documentary of Superman check out 'Look! Up in the Sky! The amazing story of Superman' on DVD. It covers everything from the original strips to Superman Returns.

I read on a site that has the comics page by page that ZOD cannot EVER defeat Clark.  That is why I still say that when Clark knelt to Zod and looked whipped he was using a ploy to burn the emblem into Lex/Zod's hand and destroy him (for awhile)
And I finally bought Season 4 and 5(new complete) for the amazing price of  $53.00 combined!  But the catch is Season 5 has with Japanese sub-titles--they will all been speaking English right from the soundtrak, but at the bottom, if you read Japanese that will explain the action.   I can deal with that, cause the whole Season 5 new, was $33.
Well, that is that--now I should be able to catch up better.  I'll start with Season 4, ($19.99) New.
Thanks for all the input and advice.

OH...MY...GOD!!!  Major spoilers galor!!!  Look & see!!

Question: The ending of the Smallville premiere suggested something sinister in Lionel Luthor's character this year. Any scoop regarding that?— Seelye

Halloween Luthor-style can only mean one thing: costume party at Lex’s! And while you’ll never guess who’s coming with or as whom, at least one couple should be on their way to rewriting comic-book history by the end of the night.”

Ausiello: Obviously Lionel is lying about his connection to Kal-El's space kin being broken. The question remains, though: Is he linked to Jor-El or Zod? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Was just thinking about the season opener.

Jor-El said all the copies of 'brainiac' were destroyed. Could that mean there's still an original floating around? If so, which one was the original; the one who 'booted' Lex's laptop or the one flying the Luthor Jet? Maybe that wasn't Lois in the hospital?

I just love conspiracy theories.

UPDATED 9/16/06: The CW's official description makes the implication that Lana will be moving in with Lex. How is that possible - what about school? Don't be surprised if Metropolis University and other major facilities are closed up following the events of the Season 5 finale.

- Lois lands a job at the Inquisitor, finally taking the steps toward becoming Lois Lane, Reporter.

UPDATED 7/6/06: Title Posted. Please do not post this on other websites without a link back to KryptonSite.com.

UPDATED 7/24/06: The latest from "Secretagentman": There's a character named Gloria who is a "naturally beautiful" park ranger investigating some weird happenings inthe woods.
- A young couple is "frolicking" in the woods, and they are dragged away and left barely alive.
- Lois Lane barges into Oliver Queen's office.
- Lex hosts a costume party. Clark tries to dance with Gloria and a lumberjack "growls" at him.
- Although Green Arrow's famous costume might not be seen, he does wear something a bit like it at the costume party.
- Jimmy has some poisonous seeds implanted inside of him and Chloe has to save him.

UPDATED 8/4/06: The All-American Rejects play at Lex's costume party.
- Oliver Queen's costume is very Robin Hood-esque. Are you surprised?

Episode #6-6: "Reunion" Air Date: November 2006

- When Lex and Oliver were 15, Oliver and his rich pals liked to torment Lex and Duncan, Lex's only friend who was a "greasy haired comic book geek." (Hey, we don't write this stuff!)
- Lex and Duncan hung out until Lex tries to find a way to try and blackmail Ollie from further harrassment. Duncan freaks out about this and Lex ends up beating him up. Crushed, Duncan runs away and ends up falling off of the school roof.
- Now, years later, Duncan is attending the reunion party in a vegetative state, wheelchair bound. Oh, and someone named Lionel Luthor has doctors experimenting on him....
-Lex's date to the reunion is Lana. Oliver takes Lois.
(Thanks to Secretagentman!)

UPDATED 8/22/06: Casting directors are looking for two actors to play the 15 year old versions of Lex Luthor and Oliver Queen. Requirements are "resemblance to Michael Rosenbaum and Justin Hartley," and instruct that the Lex Luthor actor must be willing to shave his head, as a bald cap will not be used. The young Oliver Queen must be "tall, blond, and handsome."
(Thanks to Miss Info!)

UPDATED 8/15/06: So who's reuniting in "Reunion?" No, it's not the return of Pete Ross... and nope, it's not gonna be a Clark & Lana reunion either... the "reunion" in question for this episode is a reunion between Lex Luthor and Oliver Queen, and the show has flashbacks to their days in boarding school.

Guest Stars: Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow)

- Oliver Queen is behaving very erratically in this story. Oliver is still involved with Lois Lane at this time.
- Lex is involved with a new experiment involving some patients at a halfway house, but Oliver Queen (a.k.a. Green Arrow) is on to him.
(Thanks to T.F.!)

UPDATED 9/21/06: Title Posted. Please do not post this on other websites without a link back to KryptonSite.com.

UPDATED 9/21/06: Title Posted. Please do not post this on other websites without a link back to KryptonSite.com.

UPDATED 9/20/06: From the column of TV Guide's Mike Ausiello: Tori Spelling will be playing the Daily Planet's new gossip reporter, who has the ability to turn herself into water. "She'll be exposing the very big secrets that will be driving the second half of the season, Alfred Gough told Ausiello, "and I can't tell you any of them. Zero."

Episode #6-11: "Justice" Air Date: January or February 2007

Guest Stars: Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow), Alan Ritchson (Arthur "AC" Curry/Aquaman), Kyle Gallner (Bart Allen/The Flash), Lee Thompson Young (Victor Stone/Cyborg)

UPDATED 9/20/06: From the column of TV Guide's Mike Ausiello, some quotes from Alfred Gough: "Episode 11, which is our second episode back in January, is going to be called 'Justice,' and it'll basically be our first look at the Justice League. We're gonna have Green Arrow, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman, played by Alan Ritchson, who is coming back. That's gonna be our first Justice League episode." And where exactly is Wonder Woman? "Ask Joel Silver," Gough grumbles. "He's the producer; he controls the movie rights. We'd do a whole Wonder Woman series if we had Wonder Woman, but Joss Whedon is writing the movie, so we can't have her."
