On the Smallville message board, some people have expressed their hope that "Smallville" not turn out like in the comic book.
I'm one of those people who would like to see Lex NOT turn evil (I loved "Lexmas!")
Speaking of people not turning evil, how about Anakin Skywalker?
Here's two ways the new Star Wars movies could have been improved:
1. Anakin doesn't turn evil. At the end would be a message saying that Luke, Leia, and Han fighting the Empire takes place in an alternate universe.
This would have had two advantages: One, it would have been a surprise (until it was all over the Internet, but even then it would mean free publicity).
Two, movies could be made, and novels published, in which Luke, Leia, and Han have adventures in a galaxy where the Empire never existed.
Another way the movies could have been improved:
2. Let the movie focus on two characters other than Anakin. There'd be two characters: a Luke Skywalker type (maybe a Jedi knight), a Han Solo type, who's like a private pilot or a mercenary smuggler. (The new Star Wars movies would have been greatly improved with a Han Solo type character!)
These two guys would know Anakin, who would be only a supporting character. They might be in love with the same woman or two different women. It doesn't matter.
The point is, as we get involved with these two characters, we wonder what's going to happen to them. We know Anakin will turn to evil and kill the Jedi.
So the suspense would be: Do these two guys live happily ever after with their women? Do they even survive?
What are your ideas?
