To anyone who has been reading what kazaadude and myself have been writing then I was wondering what other people were thinking about this idea. Given the fact that the average person these days is getting bigger then shouldn't the writers and artists of the superman comics start making him a bigger man. It is a well known world wide fact that in this day in age a man of 6'3" isn't actually that big by todays standards. I think Superman should be more along the lines of 6'5" or 6'6" to keep up with todays increasing physical size of the population.

As as short guy, I'd rather Superman stay the same. Heck being tall ain't everthing.
The population may be getting taller but it's not rubbing off on me yet. __________________

Ohh poor Tim have you tried hanging from the coatrack in your cupboard like Arnold (Different Strokes) used to? I'm not tall either but I think they need to make him bigger to keep up with modern growth standards.

I myself am 6'7. I was 6'4 by the time I was 14. I think superman should be around 6'5 to 6'6. Normally Superman's been around 220. they should make him about 240 or so along with the height.

superjon I'm not sure, but I think your being sarcastic with me, but I still don't care Superman is fine at his current height.
I have one more thing to say not that I'm sensitive about my height or anything but I'll meet anybody on the basketball court any time and whoop ya at a game of 21, Short or not. .
The point is what does his height have to do with his ability to stop a moving train, bend steel in his bair hands, etc, etc etc.
It's kind of funny though I used to have a friend I haven't seen a few years that seemed a little sensitive about being taller than everyone else. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Here's a question if people are getting taller presumably because of what we eat today. Perhaps steriods in the meat could be the cause. If our food makes that kind of physical change in our kids, could it have long term health problems? A little off the subject but it was something my wife and I were talking about the other day. __________________

I didn't know there were steroids in meat, but I did hear they put stuff in them. I remember Suzanne Sommers complaining that girls were developing bigger breasts at a younger age. Don't know any long term effects, though.

You never know what could happen. I don't think there is reason to panic, but if we learned anything from the X-files it's to trust no one!
Ronald Reagan said,"Trust but verify". I wish I was a scientists so I knew exactly what goes into our food. I'd like to verify the food safety for myself. __________________

Yes Tim I was being sarcastic about hanging from the closet. The idea of a game of basketball between us would be curious because I haven't played a serious game in a couple of years and then I was very out of practise because it was 14 years since I had played at all. I play a lot of tennis these days so my own height of 5'10" doesn't affect my game at all. Kazaadude they have been putting steroids in most meats for a lot of years and my mother believes the reason for the girls getting bigger at a younger age is the genetic transference from the original contraceptive pill because of newspaper articles that she read over the years. With regards to the scienists and their genetic modifications of foods I wish they had started 20 years earlier then maybe I would be 6'1" instead of my 15 year old nephew but he would probably be 6'5" then.

Ahh a tennis player, superjon that's one game I stink at. My wife and I have been playing around with tennis for two years and even the old people that come to the park make me look bad.
I've been playing b ball since before I could even throw a ball up high enough to reach the goal. It's a great way to get some cardio, but it's hard to get to the park when there is any games going on.
You know fellas if Superman's height does actually progress taller in the coming years, it won't really make that much of a difference. Look at wolverine he's supposed to be 5'3. Do you ever say to yourself this guy looks short in the comics? On the screen they got Hugh Jackman playing him and in real life he's taller than the guy playing Cyclops. __________________

I actually think it would've been better for "the look" if Wolverine was a bit shorter. But they did change a lot about the X-men in the movies ... It's Cyclops who should be the natural leader, the strategist, the one everyone follows ... instead, they made him a naive young guy (kid). Jean Grey looks about the right age, but she looks like a cradle snatcher with Cyclops . Don't get me wrong, she's still a hottie. Rogue should be a bit older, not someone who looks like a young teenager. The movies did turn out okay, though.

Yeah well boys wolverine is too tall from the movie compared to the comics but then again so was the big screen hulk because he is 7' in the comics but about 15' in the movie which was the only thing that I didn't like about the movie. At least they finally got someone the right height to play batman, Christian Bale is 6'1" and by the look about the right weight aswell, 210 lbs. It looks like X-Men 3 is going up against Superman Returns next year because by the way Hugh Jackman looked at the Emmies the sideburns were already in place. Now that could prove an interesting turnout with regards to box office sales because the average movie goer will see both once but the diehard fans of either will probably push one in front of the other.

That was one thing that kind of bugged me about the movie hulk. Why did he grow so big up and down? Was it because it was easier than to try and get the correct perspective in relation to the size of his surroundings? __________________

@superjon, I think Superman should beat out X-men in box-office sales. Not everyone really know the X-men, but everyone knows Superman. This is gonna be huge.
@Tim, they probably wanted to make him look even more intimidating.

i think it makes sense to make Superman bigger and taller since he is suposed to stand out a bit among normal men, but then if you think about it Superman's other goal is to blend in as Clark Kent and if he's more normal in height for a tall person it makes it easier to blend in and not be susupected as being Superman by some one like Lex Luthor

I've always thought when reading World's Greatest that when Superman and Batman are talking to each other Supes should be at least one head taller than Bruce. In other words, Clark should turn heads when he walks into McDonald's, because he's noticeably bigger than most people you see on the street.
