I have to wonder if the writers or anyone else really gave consideration as to the implications of the name of the show.

There's the obvious: The survivors are location unknown.
Then the almost obvious:They throw so many curves that you really need a scorecard, and it's still next to impossible to keep up with everything.
Then the subtle:The vast majority of people on this island fall under the heading of sinner, victim or lost cause.
Now, after the finale:Jack's desperate need to return to the island, not to mention the obvious connection to the suicide victim he went to the showing of.

But was Jack in the future or in the past? He mentioned his father as if he was still alive in one scene. He said if the hospital checked on him they'd see him drunker than he was at the moment.

I've seen alot of post elsewhere about him yelling at the Dr to go get his father 'down here'.

My opinion is either that he was so drunk he forgot for a second that dad was actually dead, he was just lashing out(so what? I drink, my dad drinked; Who are you to point that out, new guy?-stuff along those lines), or he meant to grab drunk daddy from heaven for a comparison.

Bottom line-should probably just blame the alcohol/oxycodone/stress/regret cocktail, and not just take the dialog at face value.

Could be, or it could be a clue. Shows don't usually throw stuff like that in there for the heck of it. They either won't to throw us off the trail or give us a big clue one. I love mysteries.

You know, I was driving today and I had another random thought about the title.....

If whatever they're doing on the island fails to solve that Valenzetti equation (the whole numbers thing), then the title refers to humanity as being lost. These producers and writers are a crafty evil lot.

Maybe this'll help. In the episode White Rabbit, Jack finds out(in flashback) his dad died of alcohol poisoning. This to me makes his outburst at the other doctor absolutely chilling.

Certain things have a new outlook on them now that I'm rewatching it.
