DH, you seem to have no education other than what you see on fox news and bill o'reilly. why do you limit yourself? there is so much info out there and so many sources to find out the facts if your just willing to look. you're just lazy. i can tell you some good sources of info, and i will if you want, but you should really go and try and find and judge for yourself, because the work is worth the effort for the knowledge that you gain. and you have to read widely and critically. if someone comes up and says something very confidently, the first thing that should come to mind is, wait a sec, is that true? one of the authors that i like to read is noam chomsky. i've cited him in another post. i'm not gonna go over his whole body of work but it speaks for itself. google him if you want. one of the reasons he is so respected around the world is because "his tone-so free of exaggeration or misrepresentation-is all but unique. he avoids self-righteousness;is able to admit when a conclusion is uncertain or when the evidence allows for several possible conclusions;and is able to see inadequacies in the views or tactics of those who share his position-and even some occasional merit in those who do not. these qualities-this integrity-gives unusual strength to chomsky's writing." and it's true. if you've ever heard him speak, you'll know that. he provides extensive notes in his books showing the sources of all his info. and notice i said sources, plural. i've heard him say to people on numerous occasions: "don't take my word for it. look into it for yourself. i'll give you my sources if you want." and i don't take his word for it. there are plenty of good news sources and many sources from abroad that are now translated. one of the sources that is pretty good and that i found thru his recommendation, was The Financial Times. in his words, "they're reaching an audience that has to have a tolerably realistic grasp of what the world is like. how do you stay rich otherwise? so the reporting is often very good." DH, i highly suggest you start expanding your horizons. i mean, i'm quoting chomsky, you're quoting "Clear and Present Danger." as far as scooter libby goes, you clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. what, in fact, are you talking about? she was not an undercover agent?! why do you think it was such a big deal that her name was made public? that's not even an issue. everybody knows she was a spy. here's a link from the new york times detailing the whole trial. i heard the phrase "i have no recollection" so many times, i thought he was alberto gonzales. http://www.nytimes.com/ref/washington/LIBBYDIARY.html i mean, he was found guilty on 5 counts by a jury in a court of law. but you sit here and say it's some sort of ...what? a conspiracy? let me guess, you heard your "facts" from bill o'reilly. he has absolutely no credibility in the journalism field. he ranks somewhere in between maury povich and geraldo rivera. who, not surprisingly, also works for fox. and why do you take libbys side? you take their side because they're republicans. and for no other reason. it doesn't matter what he did, you'll defend him while condemning a democrat for the same offense. that makes no sense at all. if it's wrong, it's wrong. it shows a complete lack of common sense and a lack of any sort of free thought on your part. you live in a bubble my friend. and regardless of what evidence is presented or what is said, you remain steadfast in your ways. that's not a good thing. here's a quote from a talk by noam chomsky that you might understand. "...so for example, when george bush tells us he's the most devout christian since the apostles (laughter from audience), we should believe him, take him at his word, and we should conclude that he certainly has memorized, over and over again, in his bible reading classes and in church, the famous definition of hypocrite that's given in the gospels. namely, the hypocrite is the person who applies to others, standards that he refuses to apply to himself. so if you are not a hypocrite, you assume that if something is right for us than it's right for them and if it's wrong when they do it, it's wrong when we do it. that is really elementary, and i assume that the president would agree and all his admirers as well. well unless we can rise to that minimal level of moral integrity, we should stop talking about things like human rights, and right and wrong, and good and evil and all such high afflatus things. because all our talk should be dismissed, in fact dismissed with complete repugnance unless we can at least rise to that minimal level." well, good night.

You have to copy the embed code they give under the video and paste it in like it was regular text. It may look like a bunch of junk but when you hit post it should turn into a video. __________________

I quoted the line from Tom Clancy's novel because I thought it was funny (that is, I liked it). Along with giving you the sources of his information, Clancy provided an entertaining and thought provoking story.

I hardly consider the New York Times to be a trust worthy source.
I could go on picking apart the various "points" you made in the post above, but I get the sense that people here are tired of the back and forth. While fun, it will never go anywhere as evidenced from your last post. Again, it gave me a good laugh, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment to have received such ire from one with points of view such as yourself. Anyhow, thanks again for the laughs, and I wish you all the best as you travel through the myst. __________________

"I am the salt and the light of the earth." (Matthew 5:13-14)
About scooter, Zod you still didn't tell us what he lied about to the FBI which got him convicted. I'm sensing a conspiracy here myself because nobody seems to be able to answer this one simple question.
As far as someone calling Bush a hypocrite, hey that might be true to some degree, but what makes you sure the person pointing the finger isn't guilty of hypocrisy in a different area. In fact I'd just about guarantee it. Ain't nobody who doesn't have some degree of hypocrisy in this world especially when it comes to politics.
I'm going to say something that might get me into trouble but I think the facts suggest this so what the heck. You know the big bad ACLU has been knocking Christians and every other religion anytime it even gets near something with the government, but since Muslims have been asking for foot washes, and areas to pray in, they get it, but no complaints from the ACLU. The guys who proudly and heroically stand for seperation of church and state, (laughter from the audience) Could it be they are chicken. Maybe they are afraid that the 10 percent, as the news media says, of Muslims with a radical bend might blow the hell out of them. We'll have to wait and see, but I wouldn't doubt it for a second. I just don't see the ACLU as a group that would ever take a chance or sacrafice for their beliefs. They are chicken dookie to put it in a nice way! Now that's liberal hypocrisy big time.
Oh and Zod feel free to post videos, but please don't post anything with lots of cussing and junk. Don't go rated R. __________________
I'm beginning to think I should start a political website, but I'm kind of wondering what kind of junk people might post. What do you all think? Would it be too much a hassle? Would anybody even post anything on a brand new site like that? __________________
Here is a short segment from an article at Fox News that talks a little about Lewis "Scooter" Libby:
Quote: The leak case has hung over the White House for years. After CIA operative Valerie Plame's name appeared in a 2003 syndicated newspaper column, Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald questioned top administration officials, including Bush and Cheney, about their possible roles.
Nobody was ever charged with the leak, including Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage or White House political adviser Karl Rove, who provided the information for the original article. Prosecutors said Libby obstructed the investigation by lying about how he learned about Plame and whom he told.
Plame believes Libby and other White House officials conspired to leak her identity to reporters in 2003 as retribution against her husband, Joseph Wilson, who criticized what he said was the administration's misleading use of prewar intelligence on Iraq.
The full article I took this from can be found at the Fox News Website.

I do enjoy verbal judo concerning politics, but it is difficult to tell what all would be posted there. Are you able to set preselected filters to govern what is allowable Tim? Or do you have to manually peruse the threads? __________________

With this script I have to manually take out cuss words. That can be a pain.
Well if Libby and other White House officials conspired to leak her identity to reporters in 2003 as retribution against her husband, Joseph Wilson
Then I would say that was wrong, but you know I'm not going to lose sleep over this one, one way or the other. I'm mad at Bush for the Border Patrol Agents, and until something worse than that comes around I'm just neutral. I think supporting Bush for me has just become a knee jerk reaction to all the unruly illogical seething angry attacks from liberals. I don't know what the point is for them to stay on the attack now anyway. He's out in a couple of years, and even Republicans are mad at the guy. It's not like with Bill Clinton where the Dems practically worship the guy to nausea. I mean that's what sets me off as a conservative plus the fact that Hillary wants back in to do the same bull all over again. It's time for everybody to move forward. It's time for Fred Thompson!
If I did start a political website. I'd have to have somebody like Zod around to start the arguments. Hey Zodddddd! __________________
DH,i think you missed my whole point. and i doubt you will ever understand. but that's fine. larry king once asked bill maher: "what should we do about the religious right in this country?" he responded: "you gotta let them go. you gotta move on without them, cause they're a lost cause." so i'm moving on. at least as far as this subject goes. but i'm sure we'll quarrel again. and next time...i'm bringing non and ursa. (and please don't respond: "i'm bringing god.")

I have been ignoring this debate for the reason of keeping from arguments. I really don't want to get in a fight...I hate unessesary drama. Move along...nothing to see here!! hahaha....
I also don't need to bring God as God is everywhere
All I will say about christianity is this. To me it's about my personal relationship with the master planner of the universe. That constant connection with my maker. It's an on going constant and daily communication I have with him. That's something I could never put into words or describe to anyone. It's a journey one has to find on his or her own. It's my life, I live everyday with that constant knowing that I'm never alone. The warm and fuzzies I feel when I go to sleep, the constant voice in my spirit giving me direction in my life. I could not imagine living life having blocked that off. So alone, and empty. Anyways, no one could ever tell me it's all in my head cause it's not. It's the most real thing in my life.
Anyways, staying out of the debate hehehe!!! Night all!!! __________________

Dude this ain't a Christian thing to say I admit, but it's things like that, that just want to make me say, Kiss my butt. You do know It's possible that some people might just think that Bill maher is just an idiot, right?
The only reason morons get away with saying stupid crap like that is because we Christians are supposed to turn the other cheek. Scaper's answer is much nicer than mine. Just read his. I'm going to try and think peaceful thoughts now. __________________

Actually zod, that's what he calls, the "religous right". Again, Bill Maher is as far out there as Cindy Sheehan for crying out loud.
Bob stole my thunder (no pun intended ) a little with his comment

, but he's right - since God is omnipresent I do not have to bring him with me - He is already there!!
Quote: i think you missed my whole point
There was never any point to begin with, well maybe the showmanship of ignorance, but that's about it. Again, I thank you for all the laughs. __________________

I don't know that much about him except when I do hear something, he's saying stuff that irks me. I think he's said some stupid stuff about 911 too if I remember correctly. I'm about to get a little tired of people bashing Christians on TV. __________________
Made this for my TVcrazy site. It's from the old show One Step Beyond. It's some clips from an episode surrounding the miracles surrounding George Washington. It's about 5 minutes long. DH you will probably love this. Scaper being a Candadian I don't know, but check it out anyway.

Isn't that something though how George Washington never got shot once in all the battles he was in. There was a Christian historian that said the same thing that came to my church a few years ago. I was surprised to hear it on this television episode. __________________
too smart for you guys i guess. not you scaper. you seem to get it. DH, you answered exactly how i knew you would. thanks for proving my point.

Sounds Good. It's always good for a country to flex it's military might, time to conquer Greenland!!! And if the Danish get in our way, We'll take over Denmark too.... Hey just think in a hundred years when all the snow melts it will have some much sought after ocean side real estate.
I still think it's hilarious that Canada and Denmark are having a fight over that little piece of crap artic Island. When we all sent our warships to it. How funny is that!!! __________________

Why yes, I did look up the definition of ecumenism. However, since when has the Pope ever spoken for all Christians?

LOL!! Yeah, so when are you guys going to utilize all that open range?? __________________

Zod did you ever answer my question about the college thing? You are taking a college course on politics or religion of some kind aren't you?
Should have watched the video Zod, instead of making like a stupid dictionary quiz show. I went through a lot of trouble to post it. All kinds of hassles. __________________
I liked that video Tim. It's also important to appreciate your country's heritage and to know how your country was founded. Canada to has an amazingly rich heritage too. Again, I don't hate Bush myself though he's a far cry from some of your guy's earlier fathers. Like Abe and Washington etc. Like I said earlier the only President that I could say was as honorable as those guys was Ronnie! I loved Ronald Reagon. __________________
