SupermanTV.net Forum / Superman / Superman Cartoons / Justice League / Is Justice League Unlimited similar to JL regular?

Posted:  03 Aug 2007 17:36
I have no idea, I'm new to the JL cartoons, as I collected the BTAS and STAS, and wonder if they are similar, is that what is considered season 3 and 4 of JL is the unlimited?  Does this make sense, sorry if it doesn't I'll try and clarify.

it's somewhat similar

JL has the original 7 carrying out missions and saing the day.  Some shows go more into 1 hero then the others and balance themselves out. (Kinda like LOST)  Others use the entire group for bigger problems i.e Luthor or the Joker.

JLU has a whole big recruit of DC superheroes and the original 7 are the head honchoes  the mission carried out here are a bit more deadly and you get to see the backgrounds of other DC Superheroes. Not to mention DC scenarios such as Cadmus and a larger Legion.

I personally prefer JLU.

There were a lot of great episodes in both series. My favorite was the JLA WW2 movie length episode, and the later JLU episodes with Batman Beyond. Of course I loved the Flash episodes too. It was all good except for the occassional slow one. I wasn't too crazy about the one where Wonder Woman was turned into a pig, but it had it's funny moments. Check out our JLA page

Ok, so if I am assuming correctly, JL Seasons 3-5 are not out on DVD yet?  Is this correct?  I'll prolly end up buying JLU 1&2 as well.  Thanks for your help on this, I'm just trying to collect all the JL seasons and JLU seasons.

Yes they are all on DVD. This is how the DVD sets are broken up.
JLA Season One
JLA Season Two
JLU Season One
JLU Season Two Contains last 13 episodes

I know this goes against what we have in the episode guide as I broke them up as they were originally listed as seasons. The seasons for this series was all over the place as well. You'd have a run of new ones, then nothing maybe 3 new ones and nothing again.

Oh, if you are going to buy them through amazon, get them through the buy links on the pages listed above. The buy links take you to amazon, but it helps our site. Thanks

I wonder why Tim Daly wasn't signed up to do JLA and JLU.  He did STAS and it would of made sense to keep him.  not that Newbern didn't do a good job.

Oh yeah, do we have any concrete info that a live action JLA movie would be made, hopefully with Routh and (heck, I cannot remember the new Batman actor's name)

that would rock

It looks pretty good for a live action JLA movie. I believe Tim Daly was busy with other projects at the time, probably the show the Fugitive on CBS which lasted only one season. I liked it, didn't miss an episode so of course it had to be canceled. I hadn't got into any shows Tim Daly has been in since. I was a big fan of Wings too.

The new Batman's name is Christian Bale. In the minds of most fans he's the best ever movie Batman.

definatly, he plays the role perfectly.  If you like him check out the movie The Prestige; one of his and Huge Jackman's best yet

I saw the Prestige too. It was pretty good. Not a Batman movie, but pretty good.

Christian Bale, that's right and yes, totally agree.... He was the best batman and that was the best story.  Love Caine as Alfred, and of course God was in it, er...um... Morgan Freeman. (God from Bruce Almighty!)
