You all know if you've read many of my posts I'm pretty darn conservative, and I've been concerned over how Superman Returns might turn into a liberal mess.
Well here's a little good news I read on BrandonRouth.com his official site. His parents apparently visited him during the movie shoot and this is what they said about his character.

"In speaking of the movie's star, Katie said, He will always be our BJ, but finally watching him in the action of filming and seeing how great he was being treated made this whole experience seem a little more real. It was obvious the crew had high regard for BJ's work ethic and he always maintained a sense of professionalism even though he was working long days, 6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m., and repeating scenes.

And all the people right here in Norwalk, who have known BJ since he was little - like our neighbors, teachers and church family - they have all had a part in making him who he is and in teaching him our mid-west values, said his parents.

Ron noted that BJ knows that Superman is an icon character and this puts him in a responsible position because kids want to be like Superman. He will handle it well, his father added. " - end clip

Sounds encouraging for us conservative types that want a wholesome family event from the release of Superman Returns. Of course we'll all have to wait and see, but I really hope it's something I can take my family to, and something I can look forward to seeing at the same time.

I don't know what they rated the other superman movies in the US but none of them were above a PG rating here in Australia, Tim. I am guessing they will try not to make it a dark storyline so as to keep up with the other movies in the series and besides S3 already gave us a glimpse of a darker superman so I don't think they will go there again in any great hurry. I wonder if Brandon asked the Warner Bros execs to fly his parents out to Australia as a special favour or if he paid for their flights and accommodation himself. Personally I hope Warner Bros execs did it just to surprise him.

I'd say WB paid for their flight.

It would be good to see if they put Brandon's reaction to them arriving along with his interaction with them around Sydney on the DVD boxset that will more than likely be out about this time next year.
