Just take it one day at a time Anna!!!  I am so excited for you!!!!  I wish I could be there for your big day!!  When are you going back to New York?  Are you going to attend the A Capaella Innovations concert (International celebrities Kristin Kreuk and Alison Mack of Smallville host a night of exciting, audience rousing music.  A Cappella Innovations, a non-profit organization, brings to you electrifying renditions of Jazz, Rock and Pop music, expressed purely through the human instrument.) at The Egg this Saturday night?  Flying time, it is only about a couple of hours away from me, but there is no direct flight and the shortest layover would be roughly 3 hours.

I am glad that Alex stepped up and asked you the big question, I know he was there 110% with you during your stint in the hospital.  Tell him hello for me!!  May God continue to watch over you and your family and keep you all safe.

Haha, that's actually a picture of one of my parents' dogs back home, Sandy II.  She does look a lot like Shelby/Krypto right??    Technically, you're right, I guess I should have wrote the sign out in doggy-speak!! I'll have to work on that, though it took me a while to get that one photoshopped together.

Tim updated it a while back Scaper for the Christmas season.  I like the Santa-smiley, pretty cool!!

Well, I'm all set, my flight leaves RDU (Raleigh-Durham International Airport) tomorrow morning at 7:30.  I should arrive in Albany about a quarter 'til noon if the flights are on time (I have one connecting flight in Charlotte, NC).  I've got a room booked at the Crown Plaze, which is in walking distance to "The Egg" for the A Cappella Innovations program, and I reserved a ticket already online.  The event is general admission, so there's no assigned seating - first come, first serve if you will.  The weather shows Albany is to get snow this weekend, so flying back may be interesting.  Man, am I excited!!

Here's a diagram of the Swyer Theater where the program is to take place at The Egg

D Man don't forget your camera to take pictures.

Scaper the Santa smiley still counts as a smiley face. I wish I had more time I'd really deck the site with Christmas cheer.

My wife is going crazy decorating our house. Well crazy for us anyway. We usually don't have time to decorate as much as she's doing this year.

Scaper, come on now, you know I'm always a perfect gentleman!!

Well, I made it back home safely and had a great time!!    Although I did get some pictures of folks on stage, when I asked Allison about getting pictures with them she said they were not doing pictures on this trip.  I promptly apologized and told her I did not know, she sweetly told me not to worry about it and that I was fine.

I will get some pictures posted on a separate thread later.

Like they can't hold still for half a sec for a pic when you went all that way to see them.  "Not doing pics this time" just doesn't cut it.  I'm feeling bad for you.  I truly am.I am sorry that happened to you.

Don't worry about it, I understood.  I figured they have stipulations in their contracts that only allow them to have their pictures taken with folks at authorized events.  Besides, Allison was very sweet about it.  I do not think it was her fault at all.  They were taking time to talk with folks and sign autographs.  The concert started at 7 and concluded at 10 - with a 20 minute intermission.

Scaper, you really missed out man, you should have been there!!

Stars are weird about pictures. Maybe they just like to keep as much control of their image as possible. They know any and all pics will instantly go on the web. So maybe they are a little skittish about it.

It was cool you talked to them DH. You know the old saying. No guts, no glory! Takes guts to go up to people you see on TV all the time and start talking.

Yup, you're talking to a guy with little to no self-esteem!!  So, I took a deep breathe and told myself, here goes nothing!!  Still, I knew the picture thing wasn't just me.  I chatted with folks there before the concert started that were Smallville fans, and they talked about seeing Kristen/Allison at other occasions but received the same feedback I did about pictures.

Makes me chuckle because we see Brittany taking pics with fans anywhere anytime, even with her hair extensions falling half way out.  Ha Ha. And you are right---there they are,Tim, shown on the web.  No matter what she does tho, and some things are outrageous, her fans still buy her albums bigtime.  Her voice is still holding together when all else is falling apart.
I personally think Kristen and Allison are not big stars yet and need to do all they can to hold the base they have with the strike and maybe no next season. I guess they are trying by hosting events (and I do relaize there are crazy fans out there too and they have to be careful)BUT.... I wish she had grabbed Davey and gave him a big lip lock right there in front of everone and everyone snapped a photo and sent Davey the pictures.  I would have flown there myself to see that.  Maybe next time.
Hope she reads this-- DH paid a lot of $$$$$ and went so far, and is Fan #1... If you read this Allison, next time you grab that guy and give him a kiss.He deserves it. Have a drawing "WIN A DATE WITH ALLISON" and we will all pray here that it is DH who is picked.
I am glad you did get to speak with her--was that personally??  I do hope for that.

Yes, the first time I walked down to the end of the row (we were sitting at the front of the theater on the same row) I spoke to both Allison and Kristin about Anna.  Then after taking off in embarrassment after that event, I worked up enough guts to go ask about a picture before the intermission was over.  That's when I got to speak to Allison one-on-one.  She is a very sweet lady, every bit the angel I pictured her as being.

It did not work out too bad, one of my brother travels all the time with work, so I called him and asked about getting tickets to Albany.  Granted, if I had known about the event sooner, getting tickets would have been easier, but he was still able to score excellent tickets for me using his sky miles.

My only cost was getting the hotel and the ticket to the concert.  The hotel had shuttles running to the airport and back, so no rental car needed, and the Crown Plaza was within walking distance of The Egg.

Like most trips, it had its highs and lows, but overall I had fun.  I still hope Anna (a.k.a. SMALLVILLEFAN1) sees these threads and responds.

Oh, Nicki Clyne made a hilarious grammatical error when they ran back on stage to annonuce intermission.  I cannot repeat it hear, but needless to say everyone was laughing their heads off!!  As I said, I was right up front, and poor Allison was laughing so hard - I was literally (and yes Scaper, since I know you'll read this, I was praying a little that she would) afraid that she was going to fall over and off the stage.  Needless to say I was on the edge of my seat, ready to step up to catch her.  However, that did not happen, but you cannot blame a guy for hoping, eh!?!

So when are other Smallville people hosting events, and how many reading this will be going?
I am glad all went well, but am I to suspect from what you said that Smallvillefan1 wqs just teasing you about being on the show?  Or, just maybe her name isn't "Anna".
I think women in general are careful about using names when on a message board. And I totally agree.
Actually I, am not "Miss Shadow Land", altho I would  love that name, believe it or not.  I'd want my name to be "Shadoe", spelled like that,OR if I have a baby girl someday, maybe, I might name her that.  Now I need to find a "Mr. Land" and there she'd be!
Posted:  04 Dec 2007 01:25
I'm beginning to think the same.  I was foolish to bring her up, I thought it was a good way to strike up a conversation.  SF1 has posted here a long while now, and has posted a lot about deaths in the family, serious hospital stays, and most recently her engagement to Alex (who was supposedly a guy that stuck with her at the hospital while she was ill).  It makes you wonder sometimes....
