1) Could Peter or Nathan have survived the explosion?
The explosion left the pair apparently dead, but this doesn't mean they won't appear in season 2. Adrian Pasdar(Nathan) says 'You can use your acumen and put it together that somehow I manage to be a part of season 2, whether in dream sequences, flashbacks or string theory possibilities. There are no rules.'
You can take it to the bank that two of the series' main stars will return, especially with the amount of dangling threads surronding their family and Nathan's recent win of a seat in congress.

Zachary Quinto(Sylar) says 'Sylar is not quite dead. He's a hard one to keep down.
(writer)Joe Pokaski says 'We should be very clear in saying he did not turn into a cockroach.'
One clue for viewers may be the angle of blood he left behind. (producer and writer) Jeph Loeb says 'What you can't tell from the streak of blood is whether or not he pulled himself off of there or was dragged off by some other entity.'

3) Will Hiro be stuck in 15th century Japan or will he reunite with his father and his freind Ando?
Tim Kring promises he will be toughing out the wilds of Japan for a massive chunk of the year with major screen time in the offing. 'We know Hiro worshipped a legendary samurai warrior named Takezo Kensei. It's fair to say their two stories have something to do with each other. The whole idea is for Hiro to come face to face with the reality of who this hero was and who he wasn't.'
In the first episode we will see Hiro's father in mourning, not knowing where his son is.

She will spend the beginning of the season away from the Company and their ally, her grandmother.
As for her step-dad, Loeb says 'What we do know is that HRG(horn rim glasses) has a plan, and we will know that plan in episode 1.'

Loeb says 'When we left her last season, Jessica was gone and Niki remained and who knows when one thing disappears whether or not something else appears.'
Ali Larter says 'It's really a merging of the two. I think we're going to move forward where you can take little pieces of (Jessica's) personality and keep them nice and fresh.' She also vows to do no more mirror shots this season.

7) Will we learn who controls the Company and what their true motivations are?
In season 2, fans can expect to find out the hierarchy very soon. Loeb assures 'We jump right into what it is, what it was and what it might be.'
We can also expect to learn the origins of Hiro's dad Mr Nakamura and Angela Petrelli.
Further, we can also expect a slew of new characters to pick up the slack for the Company. Kring promises 'We will meet a whole new face to the Company and the whole Linderman side of it will be explained. It's going to be fun keeping the audience off balance about how they feel about the Company. Are they good or evil? Should we trust or fear them? Much the way that HRG represented this last season, people will have the same feelings about the Company.'

Loeb reminds us 'One of the things that can happen on our show as we've seen in season one, is that a character is dead and we can still see them.'
Even if he doesn't survive, there is his pregnant wife to consider. She had the affair, but if it's his, there's no set rule about it being powered or not.

Kring says 'The end of Volume 2(Generations) will end with the first run of episodes in December. There's clearly another generation that left some kind of mess behind and this generation will have to put together those pieces. Thematically it's very much about the sins of the parents being visited upon the children.'
