just wondering if any of you read "All-Star Superman" and what you think of them? my comic store had the first 6 issues in one package for 20$(minus my usual 25% off) so i figured what the hell and bought it. i thought the art was pretty good. different but good. i also bought "All-Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder" issue #1 and it was pretty damn good. Frank Miller and Jim Lee. i'm gonna go get issues #2-4?? tommorrow.

I've read a couple of All Star Superman. I plan on getting them all in the future.

i'm not liking the regular Superman comic book right now. Action Comics and All-Star Superman are much better. the writings better. the stories are better. do you read All-Star Batman tim??

I've got one, and it was good, but I'm not in to all that swearing in a comic book you know. I might still get it when I can find it in the cheap boxes.

Right now I'm trying to keep up with the Hulk War storyline. Got the Cap chosen first issue, and I need to get back to the comic store to see if the latest Action is out. I really dug that last issue I read.

I end up getting most of my books lately including some old Superman from the 50 cent section they have at my comic shop.

i really liked the World War Hulk storyline when it first started but lately it's been kinda boring. but it ends next month so maybe they'll rebound and have a good finish. i spend lots on comics. but i get good deals though, most of the time. tomorrow for example, i'm getting Daredevil #168 which is the first appearance of "Electra." according to the comic guide, it's worth 130$ but my comic dealer is selling it to me for 50$ but he's also having a 50% off sale right now to celebrate 1 year in business, so i'm getting it for 25$. and it's in mint condition.

Good deal. I don't usually pay the big bucks, but I  would gladly pay 25 bucks for that one especially if it books for a 130.

I think the most valuable I have is a very fine - near mint issue of Amazing Spider-man with the first appearance of the black cat, and the second appearance of sabretooth in a power man and iron fist comic.

I have a lot of other pretty old ones from the 1960's, but they aren't nowhere near mint.

i've got approx. 1800 comics in my collection. 90% of my collection is mint. the rest would be near mint. mostly marvel though. but i did get the death of superman today (superman #75). one of my oldest is Amazing Spiderman #41 (1st appearance of the Rhino) and i also have amaz. spiderman #129 (1st appearance of The Punisher. i want The Incredible Hulk #181 next. (1st appearance of Wolverine) unfortunately it's guided at 1400$ but i would settle for an 8.0 copy for 700$.

Whoa you must have the dough, if you are going after Hulk 181.

I've got a bunch of the death of Superman newstand version.

Wouldn't it be neat to be able to travel back in time and pull hulk 181 off the newstand for a quarter? Of course with my luck using 21st century money would get me arrested for counterfieting.

i'd go back to the summer of 1938 and get Action Comics #1.
Posted:  05 Oct 2007 22:53
Me too. I'd get them all. spider-man 1, superman 1, hulk 1, all of them.

Haha!  My Dad keeps kicking himself for tossing out comics he had in those days back when he was a kid, seeing as he was born in 1936 those comics would have been worth $$$ now!!  Hindsight gets you everytime!!

Yeah, but who would guess comic books would be worth so much. That's why I need a time machine. Anybody got one handy? While I'm on the subject anybody watching Journeyman the time travel show on NBC after Heroes? I'm liking it so far. It's neat.  It's not too complicated but it has some unanswered questions going on at the same time for mystery like how is he going back in time, and why does he keep running into an old girlfriend that supposed to be dead? While it has the mystery it still manages to have self contained stories in each episode so you don't have to commit to the whole series to just jump in every once in a while. Check it out.

what do you guys think of "kylexy?" i caught an episode and it wasn't bad. what about "chuck?"
Posted:  09 Oct 2007 16:21
I've been watching Chuck. Chuck is funny. I especially like Adam Baldwin's character. He cracks me up with that super serious spy routine.

hey tim, do you watch "Rescue Me" with dennis leary?
Posted:  12 Oct 2007 14:30
No, I watched part of one episode, but I couldn't get into the story. About everything I watch anymore is sci-fi or high action.
