The CW's Official Description: "Blue"
Airs November 15, 2007 on The CW
HELEN SLATER RETURNS AS LARA-EL; CLARK MEETS HIS BIOLOGICAL MOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME — Clark (Tom Welling) hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara (guest star Helen Slater), calling for help from Kara’s (Laura Vandervoort) crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-El’s warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-El’s ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl) manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) each discover Lois (Erica Durance) and Grant (Michael Cassidy) have been seeing each other and warn them to stop. Kristin Kreuk, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer

Blue Kryptonite doesn't strip him of his powers! Lies!
The result of using Professor Potter's "duplicator ray" on some Green Kryptonite. Pre-Crisis, Blue Kryptonite affected only Bizarros, and in a manner similar to that of Green Kryptonite on Kryptonians. Using Bizarro logic, Superman was able to recover from the effects of Red Kryptonite by using Blue Kryptonite in an episode of Super Friends. This would indicate that in the Superfriends universe, blue kryptonite is the Bizarro analogue to red kryptonite.
Post-Crisis, Blue Kryptonite makes Bizarros become coherent, polite and goodhearted; it also alters Bizarros' distinctive grammar, so that a Bizarro would say "I am Bizarro" instead of "Me am not Bizarro". In the Superman/Batman comics #25, Bizarro puts on Batzarro's Blue Kryptonite ring and receives a 12th level intellect. This blue kryptonite seems to be the exact opposite of green kryptonite, helping Bizarro become calmer and think clearer (whereas green kryptonite hurts Superman, making him think with a less clear head). However, the kryptonite (to a certain extent) seems to affect Bizarro negatively in a physical manner. It is unknown if the blue kryptonite from Batzarro is regular Blue Kryptonite, or if it's from an alternate universe with different properties.
Post IC & on New Earth, Blue Kryptonite owned by Lex Luthor in Action Comics Annual #10 has effects similar to the pre-crisis blue kryptonite. It has been shown to negatively affect Bizarro in a painful manner remniscent of the effect that Green Kryptonite has on Superman. The effects of blue kryptonite on normal kryptonians is unknown. Blue Kryptonite has been used in Superman video games as a life restorative due to its bizarro nature. __________________

Maybe the ring itself is made of Gold K so it's the composite of the Blue and Gold K reacting?? Then again, Smallville does not hold to everything that has been done in various Superman media, so maybe this is just their interpretation?? __________________

It might be a good thing if they all(writers) got "on the same page" I did ALSO note the "Blue K stripped him of powers" blooper--so if dummy ME caught that,(I have very little Superman background info) well--they have GOT to do their homework before getting a script out that seems contrary or controversial That will be a really good episode tho and cool to see how they handle that. Right?
Good idea DH about the possibility of the Gold in the ring, melding with the Blue K maybe transforming it.That would be a "save" if they did something like that I would think that they have made some plan--if not, you better be a paid consultant b4 they go much further!!! .

Quote: I wonder if green kryptonite would turn Clark into the hulk?

Clark makes a huge mistake when he releases Lara from the crystal, because Zor El is also released. Elsewhere, the relationship between Lois and Grant heats up.

Tim, you're thinking "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman", this is Smallville!! __________________

I had a thought that MAYBE if Lois is really going to be diverted from Clark toward Grant(and yes--I think Lois and Clark SHOULD be schmoozin' a little at least by now) Then--- there will be much more time for Lois and Clark to do the romance thing BECAUSE the producers know something we don't know--There WILL be a Season 8, with lots of schmoozing( between the two who are destined to be. Maybe ? I hope so. What ya think

2 things, Lois and Clark is a dead give away, it's bound to happen, but prolly not till later.
The second thing is I laughed hard when I though of Tom Welling yelling "this is Smallville!" in a "300" fashion. __________________

I'll say this one more time, then I'll start printing bumper stickers - you don't see Lois and Clark together in Smallville. There's no suit in Smallville (thank God!!!) ergo, no Lois and Clark!!! Beyond that (and I know I'll get into trouble for this b/c everyone has their own opinion, but you have no idea how little I care) this version of Lois is so obnoxious that the only person she deserves is herself!!
Quote: I'm still sad they canceled that show, and right when they got a kid too.
Yeah, where did that kid come from anyway??? __________________

Quote: How did you come by that logic?
The creators of the show. Beyond that, one of Tom's stipulations to accepting the job was that he would not wear a Superman cape/tights.
Quote: The kiss where he was in uniform, and in "Crimson"
In the first part, she mistook him for Green Arrow, and the second was drug-induced. __________________

Lois liked Clark's kiss. Although I admit he doesn't have much "experiece" in the fine art of romance..That I don't get at all.

Quote: Ok. But what does that have to do with Clark and Lois not being together?
If they were together now, that would be putting the cart before the horse. That is the entire premise of "Smallville" would be thrown out and you would now have Superman - not the premise of this show. __________________

Well said, was wondering how you'd answer that. But still, when they put those little L&C moments in there, it turns out pretty good. __________________

The kid on the last episode of Lois and Clark just appeared out of nowhere like magic. They kept going on about how Lois and Clark might not be able to have a kid before that so I guess they wanted to leave it on a happy ending. __________________

Well thank you Aero, I appreciate the complement!

Yet the baby was wrapped in a blanket bearing the El family crest, the ending seemed to raise more questions than answers. Of course Dean Cain has said on numerous occasions that he thinks they could have come back and done one more season. __________________

What do you'all mean you don't know where the baby came from??? Did yo mamas' tell you about that big bird--the stork?? I did hear another possibility tho my grandma told me (so help me!!) "Babys' come from The Cabbage Patch" she said (thus also evolved those ugly baby dolls--The Cabbage Patch Kids)

you're right. Lois never falls in love with clark. She falls in love with Superman.
Now clark on the other hand, (in my opinion) falls for lois. So I think smallville will drive this story of Clark moving from lana to falling in love with lois. It may just be a crush or the realization of his feelings, but that drives him to work at the planet with lois protect her, impress her, and strive for her affection. (movie/comic adaptations)
