New Knight Rider is awesome! Love the car even though it's not a Transam. The Hoff made a guest appearance which was cool. Wish he could have talked a little more . Would have made more sense than "hi, I'm your long lost dad, maybe I'll see you if my contract is worked out ok", but still cool he was on there at all.
When was this on? I missed it I guess. __________________

Quote: I know DH had to watch it
I was aware of it. As I explained to Scaper in an IM (actually it is a long story that I will sum up here), Universal and Glen Larson had a falling out. Glen Larson has been in the process of writing a script for a new Knight Rider film to hit the big screen. Glen's script stays true to the original series, and will have the KITT that everyone remembers from the series, as Glen puts it - "rise from the ashes like a phoenix".
Anyhow, Universal, in their infinite stupidity, decided the best way to cripple Glen's efforts was to rush out their own Knight Rider tv series (which Glen was working on intially, but left after the falling out - thus his name in the credits). Universal hopes to kill Glen's project with this series.
I taped the movie/pilot last night and quickly reviewed it this evening. I thought they were extremely rude to the original with this series, and the idea overall. One thing is for sure, "it wasn't a starry Nevada, but hurt just as much." __________________

I think David's being too uptight about the original! I'm looking forward to the movie. But Like I said to David, if they use an 80's style Trans Am it'll suck. They have to use the new Camaro! __________________

So is the movie going to bring back Hasselhoff? This sounds like there are going to be two continuities which will be confusing.
Scaper you got to look at it like this, a 80's style Trans Am is now a classic. I'm still hoping to find me an old 80's Trans Am to build like DH's.
I did think they should have used the new Camaro for the TV series instead of a Mustang though. A Camaro is like the cousin of the Trans Am you know. __________________
I just figured out how they can make both the new TV Knight Rider and the Tran Am exist in the same continuity.
They kept saying on the show that the scientist had built a new Knight Rider, and I swear I saw the old one in the garage with the new one for a second. Maybe the old KITT still exists alongside the new one, and maybe he can be driven once again either by Michael Knight or maybe another son. Problem solved. Continuity not screwed with. What do you all think?
I don't mind those old cars. Though I'm more of a 60's early 70's muscle car fan.
I love my fastback but I also like the old Camaros, Vettes, Chargers, Cudas etc.
David didn't agree with me on the Camaro said it was a completely different car. I said the Trans Am, Camaro, Firebird, Z 28 were almost the same car, though I know some are differen makers Pontiac, G.M. etc. Kinda like the Canadian Beaumont and the American Chevelle. Still they should have used the Camaro. Even though I'm a huge stang fan!!! __________________

All the 60's and 70's muscle cars were cool. If anybody has one and doesn't like it, I'll be glad to take it off their hands that's for sure.
I think the fastback Mustang from like I guess the late 60's was the best ever for Mustangs. __________________
This was from this summer as it's getting a full Shelby transformation....poor car!

Yes, the big screen film will have David back playing Michael Knight. Do not expect it to look anything like what aired on NBC Sunday evening.
Here is the announcement Glen Larson made to KnightCon 2007 on YouTube:
Quote: I think David's being too uptight about the original!
Scaper, you think I'm too uptight about everything. FBM, that's why I'm still alive - up to this point anyway...

Well, what I meant was that you are talking about two different makes: a Pontiac and a Chevy. However, both the Firebird and the Camero were built side-by-side on GM assembly lines. BTW, they used the new (well the prototype) Camero in Transformers - probably one reason Universal did not use it here.
Quote: How much money did you say it's costing to get your KITT looking this good?
I didn't say.
I'm a big fan of the classic cars, Scaper your Mustang looks like a nice ride!!
As far as this tv film version, what Tim saw of the original KITT was a steering wheel, the license plate on the wall, and a close-up of the scanner on a miniature/model. Overall, an insult to the original series, much like NBC's previous failed attempt to resurrect Knight Rider in 1991 with the tv movie: Knight Rider 2000:
I never heard exactly why they did not use a T/A, they could not get ahold of the prototype Pontiac Banshee (which was scrapped for safety reasons), and wound up giving a Dodge Stealth a make-over to make it look like the Pontiac Banshee. The car used in Knight Rider 2000 has since been used on everything from Power Rangers to tv commercials. __________________

Found this silly Knight Rider remix on YouTube while looking for the Glen Larson announcement.
Tim, I'll see about getting more images uploaded to your photo hosting site.

That was a fun video remix! So how many things on the dash work for real on your car. I'm guessing the speedometer has digital read out, and maybe you might have the screen hooked up for dvd play.
Be neat if you could film it for youtube. Maybe you could tell me just one thing. How much would it cost to paint a Trans Am black? __________________
Scaper if I wasn't a Christian, I'd hate you for having that cool of a car. Man, I bet that one cost a pretty penny. Dang I want one. Everybody has got a cool car but me, dang it.
HEHEHEHE... Funny Tim. I really like my Car! It's taking long time to finish it, but in the end it's going to be awesome! Thanks for the compliment. The car was bought brand new here in Victoria. I ended up meeting the original owner in a Car show up island. Though I didn't get their number or names!
Funny how it was bought here in Victoria but it was made in San Jose. I almost spelt that San Hose! hehehe....
D.Man... I'm teasing you about being too uptight....but man you so uptight taking that comment so seriously! Try to lighten up EH!
