Dudes question. Wondering if anyone has seen this type of problem before. I was playing football and got hit in my side from a very large dude. Hurt like crazy, knocked the air out of me, but I played on.

Pain was gone till about a hour later during the game and it came back much worse and hasn't stopped. Now I got blood in my urine. Called the hospital but lady at the desk acted like I should wait till monday and go to  a family doctor.

Should I be panicking? The pain is better now, but still hurts. Very uncomfortable feeling.

Tim you should go to the hospital. If you got hit hard on the side, and have blood in the urine, you could have damaged your kidney. Not good!

Go to emergency. It maybe nothing, but it could be serious! Do wait my friend!

Kidney or bladder damage.

Definately get to the hospital asap before it gets worse!

Hey guys, after I got a hold of a doctor on the phone he told me I'd probably bruised my kidney and the only thing a hospital could do for that was kill the pain. So I toughed it out with a lot of ibuprofen. It hurt like you know what but eventually the pain stopped sometime in the middle of the night.

I told God if he'd make the pain go away I'd go to church this morning like I normally do. I just got back. Still kind of bothers me to breathe but at least I don't think I'm in danger anymore. No more blood either.

I think I'm officially retired from football.

Today I 'm not going to do anything but take it easy.

Oh!  I am sooo glad you are doing better but I thought Advil, etc. was not too good for your kidneys ?  Check that out and if I am right, maybe switch to Tylenol?  I suppose pro football players get injured all the time that way.  Maybe a good game of  "Crazy 8's" or "Solitaire" would be a good choice from now on.  Anyway, you take good care of yourself, you are cared about (mucho) over here!

Glad to hear your doing better Tim.

Nanci ibuprofen is a good anti inflammatory. The one that's hard on the kidneys is tylenol.

Anyways Tim I'm really happy that you are doing better my friend. Maybe play the touch football from now on..or flag football!

Cheers Buddy!

OH, that proves to everybody NEVER take my advice!
I have that totally backwards.  How'd that happen?   If I get a sore muscle I never kmow what to do--use a cold pack or a hot one, so I usa a warm one.  Nurse Nanci, I am not.
I'm about to leave here if nobody hears anymore 2day.

That's good.

usually blood in the urine is serious damage to either of the 2 places mentioned.  Personally? I'd go in and have your docotor do a physical to make sure everything is still ok. My experience says that internal injuries are the worst and most painful ones.

Get well soon, don't do anything to active for a while.

Thanks guys for the concern.

That's the funny part we only play touch football, but I jumped up to catch a ball and a 230 pound man landed on my side. A few weeks ago I got hit in the lip and got all bloody. I guess grown men shouldn't run around a football field at full speed without protective gear. You can get hurt that way.

Maybe I'll try more tennis and maybe basketball is a little safer. If that doesn't work I guess I'll just walk around the park slowly. Very slowly.

Maybe I'm just clumsy.

I got a couple of bruises from that video. Of course bruises I can deal with. Bleeding internally not so much.

I love making spoof videos. I haven't done them for so long though. Too bad. IT's such a nice day again here. I'm off to a late start this morning. Almost 11 am. Yikes. Well have a good day! Take it easy eh!

Heat for pain, cold for swelling.

Well Tim I'm sorry to hear that you got injured. As a kidney stone patient for the past 37 years I recommend you see your Dr. and get checked out to make sure there is no damage! I have passed enough kidney stone to have my own quarry and I know how painful it is. Do stay away from Tylenol as Scaper mentioned. I hope you are feeling better but do get checked out.

That's the problem. I think it could have killed me.

I'm not done working out. Just got to avoid situations of extreme pain and health risk. Running into large dudes in the middle of the air fighting for a football is not very safe. I think a karate class would be safer. At least then you are focused on the other person not the football.
