SupermanTV.net Forum / Superman / General Discussion / My New Hound Dog Elvis

Posted:  02 Mar 2008 16:55
I'll have to take a pic for you guys to see my new hound dog Elvis. Picked him up on sale at the pound for 25 bucks. Whenever he first sees you, he smiles at you with a sideways grin like Elvis Presley. At first I thought he was mad, but that's the way he greets you. Thus the name of Elvis. He ain't nothing but a hound dog.

Just a friendly pet, or will be a lookin' out for the revenewers.  I think that is what Ol'Jed Clampett's hound dog did.  I have read they are real faithful(they are yours for just a pat on the head) and yodel at the moon, and good with kids.  I think that is right neighborly of you to get one from the dog pound--and that was a really good price for one too.  Just joshing you with the hillbilly stuff.  They are noble creatures and also the men that own them.  I have a bird, what does that make me? (Chicken?)

Elvis looks like he's mad, but he's not. He just greets everybody that way. As far as I can tell he's either smiling or he's got a nervous twitch, but he cracks me up every time I see him.

This is a pic from the pound taken from the pound website. Even here Elvis is grinning ear to ear.

I know, I know he looks madder than a wet cat stuck on a porcupine sitting underneath a skunk, but he's as gentle as a lamb.

I'll tell you this conversation has had me laughing pretty good. You picked this dog from the pound website. and first showed this last photo  to your wife before you went out to get the dog? I love this story.  It needs to be on the nightly news."Man with heart of gold, rescues homeless hound from pound"(Then they focus in on the website at pound with fangs bared Elvis)"Gentle as a lamb" you say---
Do you have any other pets?? Whoa there Elvis!!
No joke-- Elvis will be a good friend after he works out there awhile. I bet it is a bad experience for animals having to be at the pound and the pups are scared, etc. Well good luck and everything.I am sure despite the photoscare, he 'll be great!!!  Send more photos when he mellows out.

Here's Rin, I got her from the pound over a year or more ago.
http://www.posterlovers.com/gallery/data/506/rin-dog.jpg
She's the smartest dog I have. Loves to walk up to you and snuggle her nose on you.

Buddy here is a good dog, but we have to keep him on a leash at all times because he has a peculiar habit of running down the road to my inlaw's house and chasing cars that drive by their house. It's like he knows he'll get in trouble if he does it here, so he tries to get away with it when you can't see him.

Are you sure these dogs are going to get along,Tim? Maybe the hound is young enough to adapt to the other two, we hope. Nice looking batch of dogs.  and Buddy "sneaky", Ha ha.  Just like a bad kid.
Posted:  04 Mar 2008 18:25
Yeah, he's sneaky alright, but I just wonder if he'll ever realize that if he'd just not chase cars and stay in the yard he wouldn't have to be on a leash all the time. He's a stubborn one.

I've had dumb dogs and real smart dogs--"like is like a bowl of chocolates, etc etc"
My bird seems pretty smart.  He goes coo-coo before any weather "disturbance". When we had that latest quake he was hanging on the side of his cage the night before--as if he was expecting to fall. Also acting up when the dam broke.  Maybe not "smart" so much as instinct?
Posted:  04 Mar 2008 22:33
i'd like a bird that talks. that'd be cool.

That is  great--Looks like one my son likes I think "Wishbone" (a real dog doing a lot of remarkable scenes.)I have a few VHS tapes around here he has seen a dozen times.  Used to be a TV show, I think, Hey!  Your Buddy looks like a good stunt double! LOL. My boy is going to love these pictures!
Posted:  05 Mar 2008 15:03
It's funny I think Buddy was actually laying down when I took the picture, but with his paws out it looks like he's flying thanks to photoshop.

Wait till you see my bird on one of those small "fingerboard" skateboards!  And he can say "Havin' fun"? because I have been saying that to him when he plays in his cage for a couple years.  Once to my horror he yelled it to a young lady coming out the bathroom!!
Posted:  05 Mar 2008 22:34
o my gosh. what a funny bird.

He is just a "seedy" looking blue parakeet--His name is "Ace"  (You know I play cards, etc.) He had a buddy for the first year, who croaked, his name was "Chip"  But he has several mirrors he thinks is "Chip" He squacks and kisses "Chip" all day and mumbles stuff (gibberish) to "him" a and wobbles his head up and down, up and down, etc. like a half-wit..  I wonder if another parakeet would know what he says in "para-talk", maybe  he'd or she'd have to slap him LOL!--
Parakeets are dumb and smart at the same time.  Go figure. I hope he lives a long time.  Most of the time I am alone after work and damn!  I talk to him to break the solitary sometimes.

So are dogs. Sometimes I think buddy dog is so smart and then he turns around and acts like he's missing some of his marbles.

I think that dog could get his leash tangled around a blade of grass.

Good Luck Tim. Just kidding I'm sure he is a good dog otherwise you wouldn't have gotten him.

funny image, that cracked me up this morning.

Yeah, old Elvis just has a nervous smiling habit, all you got to do is walk up and pet him.

Carmic,  that is really a hoot!  That is not Tim, right? Is that you or a "horse-whisperer" somewhere. Now I want a dog like that.
Posted:  06 Mar 2008 18:43

I still have yet to see the new night rider series. When does it air? Day and time?

Tim on a side note, there are so many posters on here that are the same person and it's crazy. It makes the board really unenjoyable. I don't mean to over step boundries, maybe you are o.k. with it. But that's why I've not been posting much. The forum is a bit of a mess and chaotic.  I hope I don't offend you by posting this.

Cheers buddy!
