WHY, does Clark duck, when someone throws something at him, BUT he is able to stop bullets when shot in the chest? They don't affect him.  Throw the gun,... and he ducks.  Keep watching Smallville and you'll see what I mean.

Someone approaches Clark with a gun, points it at him, fires, he doesn't flinch.
Why then does he duck if someone throws a gun at him?(or any other object)
Is his head less "super-powered" and protected than his chest?

I hadn't noticed that on Smallville. I know that always used to happen when they threw empty guns at George Reeves in the 50's Adventures of Superman.

Ha!  Ha!  Ha! and plastic.  I guess it is just  a natural reaction to something being thrown, but they should just a few times throw something, like a "nerf gun" and he just stands there, no blinking, no ducking and take the foam so we feel the "real" Superman is in there somewhere. Do you think the writers have noticed things like that?  Keep watching, I don't think it has ever been called on before. He should be able to take a bat to the brain if he can take a bullet to the ribs.  Right?

Areo--- You don't notice cause it hasn't been called to your attention. You are not watching for ducks and blinks.  I'll let you know the next episode I notice and give you a "heads-up"  OK?

I guess it happens because it would be so expensive to re-shoot a scene because he naturally DRAWS BACK OR FLINCHES if someone hurls something that comes close to his head . But it is kind of funny when he gets shot point blank and doesn't even BLINK!!!  It's just natural reaction to protect our heads and nobody can actually quit doing it. LOL.  There is so much debres flying from so many angles when they shoot a crash scene or whatever, I can easily understand it, but it still is funny.

actually, many people train to overcome thier natural reactions to things like falling, getting hit, and so on.

I'm one of them

What about the unexpected though? If you are really fast;that is an art. Sounds like Jackie Chan!He has a new movie out this week I think. Looks a little more like a "fantasy film".

"expect the unexpected" my head is just one big scenario subway.

And yes, the Forbindden Kingdom looks awesome.

And you need eyes in the back of it! (your head).
Knowing how to disarm someone faster than lightning helps too.

In one episode, "Jinx," where Clark is being blackmailed to throw a football game, Clark discusses how whenever he is tackled or shakes hands he has to be careful to "collapse" so no one gets hurt.

Such faking may be a habit even when something is thrown at him.

I noticed that Clark was always afraid to hurt someone. Like when he thought he was going to hurt Alica. While you know
