After last night's Smallvill, all dark, all negative and no hope for any thing to change( I need a laugh now and then and it ain't gonna happen.)--I choose Sesame Street Cookie Monster.
I believe this will be the end of Smallville watching for this dude! I wish it was like it was in the start with some funny spots.(A good feeling) My fav character Lionel dies next episode too...Uggh.

It always gets intense toward the season finale. I'm psyched for the next episode. I don't really want Lionel to die though. He's a great character.

You mean to say, you think there is a slight change he may NOT fall to his death, next new episode?
Someone was supposed to die--I figure it is he, but with Lana in unexpressed agony, I hope it is she.
I mean, we put our dogs to sleep when they are in agony.  Right?
Speaking of dogs, I have been meaning to ask; how's Elvis and his million dollar smile? (Ha Ha)

Elvis is fine. He's such a howler.

Showing us Lionel fall to his death is a classic example of misdirection. It's too easy. Therefore he can't die. Unless they knew we'd think that, and therefore... he is going to die, but I doubt it.

Could be a dream or wishful thinking, or a  future goal on Lex's part.    Could be a projection of a fear that Lionel has. Please, anything but the loss of Lionel.
He could be caught by Kara or Clark just happening to pass by.  What other possibilities?  Who can think of some to "save the day"? (or, looked like night)

I really don't want Lionel to die, but you know I can think of nothing else more sinister for Lex to do to seal the deal on his turn to the dark side than to murder his own father.

And that's what I believe they are wanting to do with this episode, show us Lex's final step to evil.

But on the other hand he could always just think he killed Lionel while Lionel hides in secret.

Looks like the writers hate their father! Both Clark's father and Lex's father meet doom.
Nobody would listen to Lionel on the last show; will they feel guilt about it.
Maybe his corpse will never materialize and they will think he "ran away".  Then, out of the blue his "twin bro" can come to Smallville. After all, there is Season 8, and we are losing Michael Rosenbaum.  I'd like to keep as many actors on payrole as possible that are regular cast members.
Of course, with a choice, I'd say "bye-bye" to Lana before Lionel.  Ah well, I am probably not alone in that opinion.

I also like Lionel's character more than Lana. Glover is a great actor. Now there won't be any older people on the show. That's not a very realistic set up. Be neat if they found a way to bring Schneider back.
