 I always wondered: How could Lionel not figure out Clark was from another planet? He arranged the adoption of Clark shortly after the meteor shower.
Turns out he knew all along! But why did he think the Traveler would be in good hands with the Kents? (Unless, unknown to us, he had already been researching them. Or he researched them during the adoption process.)
