Is this Joker too much? This Joker poster featuring Heath Ledger as the Joker is
for sale at art.com
at least at the time of this posting. Is this too grotesque for a Batman movie? Too violent? What do you guys think? I wonder if this could end up being a big collector's item?

Batman wasn't intentioned to be a dark superhero at first but as time passed, it became more obvious that it would do better with draker history, the origin of Bruce, the costume itself, his archenemy are all of dark nature.

While i agree that it is too dark for some kids, I don't believe it should be changed.

Kids will hang it up--moms will tear it dowm. I had something like it when I was a kid and my mother stuck tacks in the eyes!
This one makes it's point pretty well, but I don't think it is a brilliant marketing idea with Heath not yet cold in the grave.  A terrible way to "remember him".  Disrespect bigtime.  If I was family, I'd protest.
So to your Q., I answer--"Yes, too much" due to the circumstances of the tragic death.

It's an interesting picture but I wouldn't call it violent as much as representative of the character. On the other hand, that fails on so many levels as a promotional poster. I would sell those in comic shops and maybe put on a t-shirt, but not use it in theatres.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't use it in a theater promotion. All the parents would refuse to take their kids then.

Looks like a new version of The Crow, that's what Eddie told me.
