John Locke is one of the most interesting characters on Lost. Sometimes he does things that drive me crazy, but the show wouldn't be the same without him. __________________
He's definitely a key player for numerous reasons. Whether by connection to his father, his leadership vs that of Ben or Jack, seeing him manipulated off the island to becoming a manipulator on the island, his recovery on the island being one of the first mysteries to be uncovered and his curious connections to the island itself(finding the hatch, letting the numbers run out, face to face with smokey, etc). __________________

So let's see what is the biggest questions left.
How in the world could they move the island?
Was it scientists work? Or was it aliens that landed there centuries before?
I'm thinking there is something to do with time travel in there somewhere. Well we know Desmond is traveling through time somehow. Let's see why was he able to do that?
There is so many mysteries I tend to lose track during the off season.
I hope at the end everything makes sense, but sort of slaps you in the face at the same time. I don't want to see it coming, but I want a good ending I can live with after all these hours I've logged in. __________________
Don't forget the statue of the foot. That's another mystery.

I have a few of my own.
One of the absolute earliest that has never been solved is who are Adam and Eve?(think back to season 1 when Jack's party at the cave discovers the two skeletons.)
We're still not sure what the smoke monster is. Now we know Ben can exert some control over it as well-how much and how exactly?
We still need to find out the exact cause of the medical effects of people on the island. Locke walking, Ben's cancer, pregnant women dying, etc etc etc.
There are certain key figures at the center of all the people that connect them all- Jack's father Christian, Mr Paik and Mr Widmore being primary amongst them, that we have yet to learn all the links and nuances of just yet. I have no doubt we're going to see Ben connected prominently to each(at least I hope so).
Who/what is Jacob?
What relevance does that island have to the rest of humanity that Jack so desperately needs to go back?
Have they or can they solve the Valenzetti equation and save mankind?(might answer the previous question or it might not)
Why does Hurley see 'dead' people back in civilization?
--------------------------------------------------

They decided before writing last season to have this show end in three seasons so they must have had a firm grasp on an intended set of endings. We did have the strike shorten last season a few episodes but they should be able to still hit their markers. __________________

Forgot that one. That one is driving me crazy!
Desmond is still alive right? I hope everything works out ok for him. __________________

Thanks, Pak. I've been wondering if Desmond would return. Now I can rest assured he will.

From Pak's link
Quote:
However Desmond returns, I imagine it won't be on happy terms. There's no way he leaves the mainland and Penny if things remain peachy keen in his life. Penny will have to disappear, or he'll have to be given some sort of ugly ultimatum. No matter how Desmond returns to the Lost story, it will almost certainly involve Penny, Charles Widmore and Ben.
I hope they don't ruin the happy ending thing with Desmond and Penny at the end of the show's run. I'll freak out. __________________
Well do you really think they're going to let a character on their show actually be happy!?! No, they'll ruin it somehow.

I was pulling more for Rose and Bernard myself. I hope Hurley finds some peace finally as well.
We do have two full seasons left and anything is possible right now. __________________

Rose and Bernard are kind of boring you know. Nice but boring. They remind me of an older version of that couple on the Jeffersons. They are good for backup characters, but you know it's not like Bernard is some kind of Rambo or something.
Every character helps make the show though. I can't think of any I can't stand. Well that blond with the baby kind of gets on my nerves. __________________
Everyone has their favorites-that's one of the major draws of the show.

Claire is now a ghost that hangs with her and Jack's dad, Christian. Not as annoying anymore-looks kinda wicked actually, like temptation personified-damn sexy as well now, for what it's worth. I personally hope to see much much more of non-blonde Claire. __________________

Kate is trying to redeem herself in numerous ways. First from the perception of her being a criminal to the entire group once they saw her wanted poster, accompanied by a need for contact after what happened between her and her mother, and that independant spirit that does make her want to be just like Wonder Woman. I believe they call this complexity, yes? __________________

I dig the need for her to make up for her past, but you know it's like why does she always have to go along just so she can get captured. __________________
That's the way she was written. That's the real world answer(sorry if it's snarky).
Here's a little something to think about though. She knows that the others had a way off the island, which she saw firsthand they had given to Michael and his son and offered to Jack, before Locke blew up the sub. They had both been captured first and then offered a way off the island for whatever deal was made. If you really wanted off that island with no other way of escape, wouldn't you try to get captured too? Also imagine just how important freedom becomes to someone after they have had a taste of not having freedom. Perhaps the island represents a jail of sorts for her and she cannot keep just accept this. When you throw in the love interest angle between her, Jack and Sawyer-more reasons and a need to leave versus reasons to stay. Now throw in the all the weird and scary stuff from the island(smokey plays pretty prominently here as it's one of the freakiest things she's experienced firsthand), and again, it's time to go by any means necessary. __________________

Just like many others on the island, getting off the island has been the only concern. Now we'll see the other side of that as Jack tries to convince a handful to go back, with Locke-in-the-box in tow. __________________

I wonder if we'll have flashbacks or flashforwards this season...

I would count on both. I would also count on that time-stepping thing they did with Desmond last season where one character slips back and forth between two seperate stories.
I also wouldn't rule out seeing people we thought were dead. I know Ana Lucia is going to be back for at least one scene. Hurley's probably going to talk with a few old friends as well. I'm even will to veer out on a serious branch here and say I'm expecting to see Mikahil on the island again(the eyepatch guy who took out Charlie). __________________

I'm still upset about Charlie. Down with Eye-patch guy!
I hope they do continue to show us time sliding. __________________
