Smallville's season opener delivered 4.38 million total viewers, a 14 percent drop from last year's premiere. Fox's Hole in the Wall, averaging 4.72 mil across two episodes, dipped 12 percent week-to-week.

Supernatural's numbers were touched by an angel, as the season premiere drew 3.96 mil " a 33 percent surge over the previous opener and the series' best CW performance ever. Kitchen Nightmares held steady at 6.15 mil.

Smallville didn't do as good as last year's premiere, but the CW network can still be happy because they kept more of their audience leading into Supernatural than last year. __________________
