Spinning out of the "One World, Under Gog" storyline, the Kingdom Come Superman's struggle with his place in the world brings a final conflict between the Supermen of Earths 1 and 22! Feeling the weight of his own world's loss on his shoulders, the transplanted Superman searches for answers to the mystery of his life's seemingly cursed existence and encounters "old acquaintances" on the way. This is the first fully written and illustrated adventure by KINGDOM COME co-creator Alex Ross, building to the storyline's conclusion in JUSTICE OF SOCIETY OF AMERICA #22!

On sale November 5. 48 pg, FC, $3.99 US

*********Spoiler**********

I'm not sure if you would absolutely call this a spoiler or not but it's impossible to really review an issue without giving some of the details away. I thought this was a good interesting read. I love stories about characters from alternate worlds anyway and here you get Kingdom Come Superman trying to cope with what happened to his world, and in the process he relives how his beloved Lois Lane dies at the hands of his world's Joker. Obviously things do not go so well for his world's Joker after that.

The art is amazing as we come to expect from Alex Ross and in the end of the book he even goes over how he creates his awesome art.

In a world where everyone has a  budget if you have to pick just one book this month. Get this one.

It's been excellent. Did you get the JSA KINGDOM COME SPECIAL: MAGOG yesterday? ie: the continuation of the story?

No not yet, I've been going to the comic shop like once a month lately. Hopefully they'll still have it when I get there.

So I'm assuming you read Justice Society of America too Tim?
Posted:  22 Nov 2008 22:31
Yeah, I try to get it, the last one I got is issue 17, and I just got the last annual for 50 cents where Power Girl is on Earth 2. I got to finish this story supposed to continue in 18.

I'd read everything if I could afford it, but right now JSA is one of those that high on my priority list since Kingdom Come Superman showed up.

I loved it when Gog turned those guys, who were committing genocide, into trees.

Green Lantern: "We don't kill."
Gog: "They are not dead. I've simply made them into a more suitable form of life."

Awesome.

I want to know what the alternate earths are going to end up looking like after all this final crisis stuff is over. Will the prime earth still contain the Justice Society? Will there be an Earth 2 with the old JSA and the main earth still have it's own JSA? What will happen to kingdom come Superman?

So many possibilities. Hey Tim, I heard that Geoff Johns (writer of Action comics and Justice Society of America) is a possibility as the writer for the next Superman movie. That would be awesome. I can't think of a better writer to do it than Geoff Johns. My second choice would probably be Jeph Loeb or Alex Ross. I've been a little disappointed by Loebs writing lately but he has a solid history of writing Superman. But Geoff Johns is THE MAN. I've heard Mark Millars name bandied about but I don't think he's right to do Superman. Even though I love his writing. By the way, in the latest issue of Wizard magazine, Action Comics was voted as the best comic book right now. I might just have to agree. My current absolute favorites right now are Action Comics, Justice Society and Ultimate Spiderman.

Good to know a Superman title is getting recognized. Looks like Supes is more popular than ever.
