SupermanTV.net Forum / Superman / Smallville / Is the Marriage of JIMMY & CHLOE "On the Rocks"?

Posted:  20 Feb 2009 05:45   Last Edited By: itzabird
Doesn't it seem lately that their marriage has gone sour??  I  don't see "newlyweds" or "honeymooners"  I see casual frindship and not much more.  Was the marriage annuled? Have I missed something? Tonights episode made it pretty clear (to me, anyway)that the flame of "love" is extinguished.  That is If there ever was any passion between  the two  to begin with.
Did Chloe kill the "Memory Reader baddy"?  Sure looked like it. I know that Brainic skills are still present. They have come in "handy".
I liked the interaction between Green Arrow and Clark.  That was great, especially the dialog about the cape!!  LOL!
For me this was a real good episode.
I sure hope they can eeek out another season!!

I think last night's was a rerun before Jimmy and Chloe got married if I'm not mistaken.

It was a repeat that took place before the wedding.

Even so, the answer looks like yes. It's seriously looking by most recent episodes that she is in denial over her feelings for Clark and even if we take him out of the equation, there's her obvious attraction to Davis and her complete lack of being at her husband's bedside as he's healing.

Good odds say this marriage won't even survive the season.

i don't know, I think the marriage might last.  it also might cause an event we all hope for.

You know, I never saw a spark between them at any time.  Jimmy just does not match with any female on Smallville.    Just leave him without a partner.  Not everyone HAS TO be matched up with someone.
Look at Green Arrow for example.
I personally don't care if any of them get hitched with anyone else on the whole show. That isn't the focus of the show anyway.
Bring on the action.

Some of those matchups might be considered action, so be careful what you wish for.

PAK-- Sorry, "no comprende" what you are saying.

I'm not wishing for romantic action on Smallville, or any match-ups---just the opposite-- forget couples--bring me adventiure action. I have never been "for romantic mush" on Smallville and so stated many, many times over a few years here.  To me Superman is about being a hero, he can have a girlfiend--but I don't care about devoting episodes to love and marriage. Amen to that!

Sadly, when you have a hero whose only real weakness is either magic or selected meteors, you have to attack him emotionally to keep him interesting-to do this involves something more than altruism can provide for- as it was in the comics, as it will be on TV.

Oddly, the romance drags him down every time.
When will the fool learn to fly solo?

So was that saying on one of the Mummy movies? Some reason the Planet of the Apes comes to mind. Don't remember hearing it on a Metallica song. It was definitely a movie.

^Tim, I think the film you're trying to recall is The Ten Commandments.

Hmm...that's interesting, are you sure there's an event we all hope for??

No way. That's sounds like something my mind would do. Connecting Planet of the Apes and the 10 commandments and confusing them because of the Charlton Heston connection.

March 12 Episode was good---but they managed to keep Jimmy out of sight and Davis seems to be making some "connection" with Chloe.  When he dumps Doomsday--if he can, maybe there is some hanky-panky to be had in the future.  I like the chemistry--it is more energized than her  "action"
toward Jimmy--who seems dull in comparison .  Davis is more vital just as he is, * a better match for Chloe. (I am not computing any creature into the equasion!!)

I liked the episode hated the way Clark did Lois at the end. Made me think he was a moron.

I was baffled tooo.  What was the point?  Why not meet her?   It was a just casual coffee place --not a romantic tryst in a French restaurant/hotel == Why not take it up just a teeny bit from work related stuff. Heck!  If he was that scared--he COULD have talked about work!! That was dumb.
Posted:  14 Mar 2009 16:14
Yeah, just wasn't polite at all. He could have met and said he just wanted to be friends, but I agree all he had to do was chat about work or something.

He was given a choice, after their near kiss from the last episode. It wasn't just for a casual cup of coffee.

Clark is not ready to fly--he's afraid.--He'll get it on (the cape of course) when he is a man, Superman of course!

K you guys--I told ya so---Chloe and Jimmy's marriage was kapoot.I made the prediction Feb.19 Exactly 1 month before 2nite's March 19 episode. I knew there was trouble brewing.  God am I glad and I hope the separation is for good.  I only see Davis in her future.  Wanna bet?

itzabird--you watched a rerun without even noticing the fact that it was rerun where they weren't married yet and that gave you the impression that their marrage was "rocky". This doesn't mean you were right silly.

It also doesn't mean you were wrong, I thought at first the marrage might last but as the episodes piled up, it became more and more evident that it was going to crash and burn. The only question was how?  And the answer of course was Davis.

Wait. It wasn't only Davis, and the only reason he became an issue was because there were problems in the first place that left a door of opportunity open for him in the first place. It would seem she still has feelings for Clark for one. There was the whole superpower bit that created a divide between them as well. There was also Chloe's need to help like her friends Clark and Lana were doing as well, that she felt the need to shield him from.

Also, does anybody remember if she was infected by Brainiac before or after Jimmy proposed? (What prompted Jimmy to propose in the first place, and why'd she accept?)

It seems to have been doomed long before Doomsday showed up. I could be wrong.

My feelings have ALWAYS,ALWAYS been that they are just not right for eachother. Mismatch bigtime. If they end up together I will be very disappointed. Let the divorce proceedings roll.  I agree it is sooo obvious Chloe would prefer Clark above all others. Would that be an amazing diviation if they "got together" a few times before he takes Lois for a lover? I know it is a no no.  But make the girl happy for at least a few episodes. She's been yearning for a God-Awful long, long time!
Then , Davis fits her personality fine ( when he's without infestation by beings/computers or whaever else they are planning to put into the two.
Chloe deserves somethin' good. SOON!! Seems all she's been doing is suffering in some way!!
