I believe these lyrics are perfect for this episode:

You came to me
in a dream last night.

You were standing
in a brilliant light.

One minute here
but the next you were gone.

I thought you could stay
but I was so wrong.

The end is here
The game is over
No more pretending
No more
NO MORE!!

The end is here.
The end is here.
The end is here.
THE END IS HERE!

THE END IS HERE!!

who's this from??

i actually think these two work as well, imo...

demon hunter - not ready to die

or...

killswitch engage - end of heartache (main theme of resident evil: apocalypse)

Do you guys think Tess is evil? I've wondered that cause she's done some bad things, but she seems she does have the world's and Clark's best interests in mind.
Posted:  14 May 2009 02:29
I think she's a lot like Lex. She thinks the greater good justifies anything and everything.

I don't think there's anyone "evil" in the show...

...except Doomsday...

...she's just misguided, Tess wants to do good or help do good at the cost of others.  Same with Lex to an extent, but he trancended to evil at some point(prolly at killing Lionel or the secene of him killing his inner child).

I think Lex is a lot worse than Tess--or at least as far as I can see. He's done things that are far worse.
Posted:  15 May 2009 03:22
OH...MY...F*&%ING GOD!!  Did all that just go down?  I can't believe those two died and what happened in the final scene.

^^ I totally am asking myself the same question!!! Well...technically...according to the second to last scene, now there's "three" people dead...

Wow...definitely an epic episode! There were so many shockers, they should've handed out tasers!!! lol...

Can Jimmy really be dead? Is the purpose of Lois getting lost in time, is so that she can change it? Or will Jimmy's brother take over his role?
Posted:  15 May 2009 06:09   Last Edited By: Aerolectric
I liked the beginning with Cosmic Boy flying in.  That was cool.

Lois putting the ring was one of those "Ohhhhaaawww.." /facepalm moments.

I'm rather disappointed with Doomsday Vs. Clark scene.  That was REALLY lacking in action, not to mention it would've been better with CGI instead of some guy in a costume.

I'm surprised they called him Henry James Olsen and not James Bartholomew Olsen, the name of Jimmy we all know in the comics...maybe this will be Superman's pal Jimmy we all know?

Chloe is a mess.  She better find some happiness next season.

Zod? Really? Again?  Nothing was explained about Kandor...

Not one of the better cliffhangers imo, and I usually like everything Smallville does.  Very anti-climatic.

Well, I was half right about the deaths (Davis), but Jimmy?!  That was a surprise.  As far as the final, OH...CRAP!!!  ZOD RETURNS??  Anyway, some stuff I found.  DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEE THE FINALE!!

They Killed WHO??

WARNING: Stop reading if you have not watched the season finale of Smallville. I mean it. Everyone else, onward and downward...

Talk about dodging a tall loophole with a single bound. In tonight's season finale, Smallville managed to kill off an iconic Superman character without incurring the wrath of the evil mythos police. I'm referring, of course, to the death of Jimmy Olsen at the hands of a de-Doomsdayed Davis. The show later revealed (or strongly implied?) that the shutterbug's younger brother is, in fact, the real Jimmy. Problem solved! Of course, that's little consolation to Aaron Ashmore, whose three-year stint as faux Jimmy ended with a steel pipe through the chest. In this exclusive interview, Ashmore reveals why he was caught off guard by his dismissal, how he'd feel about a Chloe-Clark romance, and who he thinks really killed Jimmy Olsen.

When did you find out that Jimmy wasn't long for this world?
AARON ASHMORE: About six months ago, right around the time we finished shooting "Bride." I knew that Jimmy was going to get hurt in that episode and go on a little hiatus, so I talked to the producers and asked, "Guys, where is this storyline going?" And they said, "Well, we have an idea to send Jimmy on a bit of a downward spiral and, in the end, sacrifice himself for Chloe." That's what I originally heard. I didn't know that that was necessarily going to happen this season. It happened a little sooner than I had anticipated.

Were you disappointed?
ASHMORE: Of course. I really enjoyed working on the show; to be sent off kind of sucks. But, at the same time, it works great for the story. And all things run their course. I guess Jimmy on Smallville had run his course.

Any chance he's not really dead?
ASHMORE: I don't think so. Not that I've heard.

When word leaked that two major characters were dying, no one suspected Jimmy because of the whole mythos thing. Did you think you were safe because of that?
ASHMORE: Absolutely. That was my first reaction. That being said, Smallville has taken some little turns here and there from the comic books.

So, Jimmy's little brother is the real Jimmy, right?
ASHMORE: That's how I read it. There's always been a bit of a discrepancy in how old Jimmy is compared to Clark and Lois, so this is a way of clarifying things. Jimmy [is supposed to be] 10 years younger than them, so Jimmy's little brother showing up totally makes it stick to the mythos.

What reason did producers give you for killing him off?
ASHMORE: I know when [the idea of] Jimmy coming to Smallville first came up, DC Comics had a bit of a problem because of the age difference thing. But the producers really wanted to bring the character in because they thought they could do some interesting stuff with him. I believe [producers] had reassured DC that by the end of the series -- or at some point -- they would rectify that [by making it clear that he's] not the real Jimmy Olsen.

How do you think fans will react to Jimmy's death?
ASHMORE: It's a mixed bag. It depends if you like Jimmy or not. There are a lot of people that probably think he's a really annoying, bumbling kind of guy, which, you know, there's no doubt about that. He's not the hero; he's the everyman. And I always questioned why people got so annoyed by that. [On the other hand], I think people who are big Jimmy fans are going to be bummed. But I think it's a nice way for him to go. I think he redeems himself and [emerges as] a bit of a hero after being so self-conscious and jealous [this season]. He had a lot of good qualities as well, but he took a dark turn at the end. I'll be interested to see how people take it.

Are you a "Chlark" fan?
ASHMORE: Abso… well…. romantically, I don't know if it would work. That's yet to be seen. But there's a very strong bond between those two characters. And you can see it in the show. Their scenes together are always really great, and they're always played really well by Allison [Mack] and Tom [Welling]. The connection is really, really nice.

What's next for you?
ASHMORE: I'm headed to L.A. tomorrow to hit the job hunt. I 'm in Toronto right now, where I just shot an episode of The Bridge. It's a Canadian-produced television show that CBS picked up. It's a procedural cop drama and I get to play a beat copy, which was really sweet. It's tough after being out of the audition game for three years. I'm going to try and see what the options are.

General Spoilers For Smallville Season 9

UPDATED 5/14/09: Multiple reports say that Erica Durance will be back for Season 9, with some unverified rumors saying that she'll be on for 17 episodes. In an interview with E! Online, executive producer Kelly Souders confirmed that she will be continuing: "Erica is the one person we can say yes to. We know in the mythology that it's Clark and Lois forever," Souders said.
- Also possible for Smallville's future: Sam Witwer may be continuing with the series, playing Zod. Faora did say that Davis Bloome resembled his father, after all...
- Aaron Ashmore's Smallville stay is over, after the events of "Doomsday."

What a way to fix the whole Jimmy Olsen age problem! Boy they tricked us with that one.

The only thing that disappointed me with the Doomsday fight was it was too short. It was really rocking and then all of a sudden boom and it's over. I didn't even expect it to be over and then all of a sudden were at the funeral.

One other complaint I missed like 5 minutes towards the beginning of the show thanks to a storm knocking out my satellite reception. Dang it. Right after the Legion of Superheroes dude showed up and left.

What the heck does Clark mean, "Clark Kent is dead"?

And Lois just beamed herself into the future didn't she? What is that going to change I wonder?

I posted a more detailed review on FB including pics and links.  Here's just the vare bones of it, Pak, hope it was ok, I borrowed your stuff about Chloe.

Yeah, if you haven't seen the finale or the past few episodes, I'd advise against reading the following--up to you.

First off, Cosmic Boy flying over Metropolis was one of, if not the best scene in the entire finale. That being said, the rest really was a very downplayed, anti-climatic finale. The first episode in ALL 8 seasons of Smallville so far that I was not a fan of.

Lois putting on the Legionnaire Ring made me facepalm, but at the same time, was probably the only good cliff-hanger. Who knows what'll happen to this part of the story? I've got a few ideas but nothing anywhere near concrete enough to say them.

The whole Doomsday Vs. Clark scene was EXTREMELY lacking. Like, the Superman:Doomsday animated flick was better, and that didn't even go with the original story! Doomsday himself should've been CGI and it resembled the work done on The Incredible Hulk. Not some good actor in a costume and make-up, granted, really well done make-up. There was no epicness in the fight except the cars being thrown--and we didn't see half the fight. This was the epic Superman battle, the one being/creature who kills him! Gah. Do yourselves a favor, read the graphic novel shown at the bottom of this note for the REAL story of Superman's fight against the monster known as Doomsday.

I was VERY surprised at the scene of Jimmy's funeral. Most of you who know something about the comics or animations know that Jimmy is a kid photographer for the Daily Planet working closely with Lois Lane on many stories and that he and Superman are "Pals". However in the comics, Jimmy's name is James Bartholomew Olsen, NOT Henry James Olsen as said by the priest. Also, Jimmy is supposed to be about 10 years younger then Lois and Clark. So the passing of the torch (or camera) to the child leads one to believe that HE is the true Jimmy Olsen. Very sly Smallville Writers, I like it.

Oliver's tear during the funeral was powerful, and definitely showed his acknowledgement of his own actions. My guess is that the league has disbanded and that there from this point.

I've also been asked why Clark said what he said to Chloe? A normal reaction would be doesn't Clark care about humans anymore? He does. His reasoning is that he believes in order to truly protect and save humanity, he can't have his "human side" or Clark Kent persona slowing him down and getting in the way. He also states that it's the emotions that make him weak, but as Chloe said, they're the reason he's the hero that he is. This is Clark's self pity, his emotional wall is not indestructible even though many of us look to him as such. What Clark thinks he's going to do now is get rid of the Clark Kent persona and just be the Red Blue Blur. How? No idea. We'll have to wait till September.

Chloe is a mess... {:'( (Most of the following was written by Pakratmak on supermantv.net) She's been through hell and back. First her dad is who knows where, her mom is ill and is pretty much a vegetable. She's been through the hell that is meteor freaks, finally ending up being one, then trying to help them. Her bff Lana actually went through the process of becoming a 'superhero', which actually got Lana and Clark closer before their tragic separation-closer than Chloe's ever been-to Clark and to 'making a difference'. Clark is/was working at the job she wanted, the job she basically had to twist his arm to do back in high school. Let's not forget she still has feelings for him (at least up until Zatanna's spell wore off). 'The one that got away' refers to both him and the job. Her cousin Lois, on the other hand (another one Chloe herself convinced to get interested in journalism in the first place), got both. But now she's missing, and most likely dead in Chloe's eyes. How about Pete? Another old friend. Got himself a useful power he could control, instead of something sporadic and unexplainable, and had it wear off. He was cured of his 'freakhood' and is living a grand life doing what he wanted all along. The marriage to Jimmy was a huge disappointment and a huge blow to an already fragile heart. (Even Jimmy gets to work at the Daily Planet.) Then, finally after episodes of tension and anger, Jimmy comes back to Chloe, only to be killed by Davis who she was originally trying to help. And now, the guy she could always rely on is saying his goodbye forever.

...seriously! Poor Chloe!

Nothing about Kandor from which the orb spoke of last episode was mentioned in the finale. Kandor is the last surviving city of Krypton, stuck in a bottle in the Fortress of Solitude.

Finally, we have someone standing in the center of the symbol for Zod. Most likely it's Zod himself. How? Once again, no idea, we'll have to wait till September. One problem, we already used the Zod scenario earlier in the series! Not that we can't use it again, but they could do much more…

Where is Darkseid, Gog, Mongul, Lobo? Let's see some big bad DC hitters to make up for this season finale please! Not that Doomsday wasn’t one of those but they way he was portrayed was less than accurate. All in all, it was about a 6 or 7 outta 10. They coulda done much better--maybe it was tightness on money, maybe it was lack of time. Either way, I hope season 9 turns out to be as good as the beginnings of the series.

I think at least they explained why Doomsday was buried underground when he comes out to kill Superman in the future.

in the flick, he came from the ground

in the novel, he came from a asteroid

MY GIRL AND I LOVED THIS SEASON FINALE AND WASN'T EXPECTING ANY OF WHAT HAPPENED. We were both surprised that they Actually Killed Jimmy. We were looking at each other and both said at the same time "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?" Now we REALLY can't wait to see Season 9. We both thought that Zod was making a comeback at the end. My girl turned to me and said "I thought they said that he was going to die, did his human sanity die? What part of him actually died?" We both actually watched the episode again, because we couldn't believe everything. But overall WE LOVED IT.
My girl loved Canary's hairstyle, she wanted me to ask on here for any females on this board, do you know where she can learn to do her hair like that. She said she might like to do her hair like that for our wedding day. I think her beautiful brown hair would look Awesome like that.

I liked how it ended. Clark decided that the best thing was for him to dissappear. That was a good twist. That's like in the Christopher Reeve movie: He went away for several years and wasn't heard from again until he returned as Superman. I wonder if they will fix that in the first episode of the next season or if they will continue on with him as "dead" for a while.
Posted:  18 May 2009 15:19
Ya I wonder whats going to happen next? How they are gonna make sure we ask for more as always. I hope they make it good enough for a season 10, that would be so cool. Can you imagine if we go up to over 200 episodes that would be Awesome.
