It won't be long until Season 8 will be on DVD. In the meantime though, here's what the front of the DVD set will look like.

I wonder what features we are going to get on this one? My girl and I miss Bloopers. I wish they would have kept them for every season. We always laugh at them. __________________

Ya even before Michael left, they didn't have bloopers for seasons 1&4-7. They've only had it for the 2 and 3 seasons. __________________

I Can't wait for the season 8 DVD. It's really 'Super' to hear there is going to be a season 9. Let's hope it can go beyond that. How long do you think it will be before Superman makes an appearance?

I'd say the very last episode, but then if they get to the last season and feel they have nothing to lose they might just have him put the costume on a few episodes before the last. __________________

I suppose it's a tough call to make. Bringing Superman in might spoil the show. Take Lois and Clark for example. The whole wont they will they aspect was the heart of the show. It seemed to fall apart after they got married (the wedding episode was terrible) and I always felt the last episode should have been the wedding. As much as I am a die hard Superman fan, and would love to see what they could do with him, would bringing in the Man of Steel drive away a portion of the audience?

^ It prolly would, but after 8 years, I think it's time to move forward with life. Clark is going to wear the costume and he's at that part in his life it seems where the final steps of his younger self are morphing into the man that he is.
I think season 9, maybe season 10 is where the no tights no flights rul needs to be broken. __________________"Any man can overcome adversity. If you truly want to test a man's character, give him power."

Maybe they need to come up with something altogether different for next season. How about have Clark find Argo city? Travel out there in space somewhere for a few episodes. Get stuck in the past. But definitely he's got to be Superman very soon. We've been watching for a whole decade patiently waiting. Gee whiz, time sure does fly by don't it. __________________

At the end of Season Eight, they suggested Jimmy's younger brother is the "real" Jimmy Olsen.
Maybe Clark won't put on the costume at the end. Maybe, like with Jimmy above, they'll leave you to make that leap yourself, figure it out, picture it in your own mind.
One person said the wedding of Lois and Clark ruined the show. I thought the end of "Quantum Leap" ruined that show.
Someone said maybe Clark could be transported into the past (Oh, like they're doing on "Lost?" Yes, maybe Clark could hang out with the Dharma Initiative. Or at least Evangeline Lilly. Yeah!)
Do you think, if you could time travel, you would be able to change the past or would you just cause the events you're trying to change to happen?
Still, I hope you would at least try to kill Hitler.
There was an episode of "I Dream of Jeannie" where Major Nelson got to meet Napoleon Bonaparte and tried to persuade him not to invade Waterloo. That gave Napoleon the idea to do just that!
Such are the problems associated with time travel.
On the subject of time travel, it does appear Lois has been transported into the future and is probably hanging out with the Legion of Super-Heroes. That, by the way, gets my nomination for Best Episode of Season Eight. "Legion" was an instant classic!

^ Personally, I don't think we should able to choose who live and who dies. __________________"Any man can overcome adversity. If you truly want to test a man's character, give him power."

What if Jor-El used some kind of power and erased everyone's memory of Clark Kent. Lois is not supposed to know him prior to him becoming Superman anyway.

Take a look at this.
There's a new reporter at the Daily Planet: Clark Kent, who shares a workspace with Lois Lane. There's a new hero in Metropolis, too. No one knows who he is. But Jimmy Olsen was on the scene of one of the do-gooder's exploits, and he snapped a blurred photo of the hero in superspeed action - a hero everyone now calls the Red-Blue Blur. Red-jacketed, blue-shirted Clark Kent draws closer to his Superman destiny in the exciting 22-episode Season 8 of Smallville.
Another Kryptonian destiny also takes shape: Davis Bloome begins to realize he is Doomsday. His mission on Earth: kill Clark Kent. So many new events (will Jimmy and Chloe's marriage last?), so many new faces (Tess Mercer, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy among them!), so many state-of-the-art effects - so don't miss a single thrill-packed moment!
Since mid-April, the folks at Amazon have been taking DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc pre-orders for Warner's Smallville - The Complete 8th Season...even though the studio hadn't formally scheduled these product yet, and no release date was available. This morning, however, Warner Home Video has officially announced these sets, with an August 25th release date finally revealed.
The DVD edition comes on 6 discs for $59.98 SRP. Video is widescreen, audio in English Dolby Surround 5.1 with an option for Portuguese Stereo, and subtitles in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese and Thai. The Blu-ray edition comes on 4 "BD-50" discs for $79.98 SRP. High-def 1080p widescreen video are accompanied by English Dolby Surround 5.1 audio; no other language options have been mentioned at this time for the BD version.
Both have a running time of 1012 minutes, and also include the following Bonus Material: Cast/Creator Commentaries, Unaired Scenes, Featurette: "Smallville’s Doomsday: The Making of a Monster" and Featurette: "In the Director’s Chair: Behind the Lens and Calling the Shots with Allison Mack".
