The fans of Smallville's Chloe and Chlark were really put through the wringer last season. Is there anything for us to look forward to in Season 9? — Cassie
MATT: I hear you, and if the gloomy, Doomy events of last spring continue to cloud your memory, I strongly urge you to consider this the silver lining: The super-talented Allison Mack is poised to have some of her best material yet, as Chloe continues to process her role in Jimmy's death and deal with the resulting pangs of guilt. How will she ever make things right? Watch for Ms. Sullivan to pour herself into her role as Watchtower like never before.

Season 9 Episode 1 -- Savior

UPDATED 7/21/09: New stuff from TV Guide Magazine: Clark Kent (Tom Welling) is getting a little obsessed as the Red Blue Blur, his budding crime-fighting alias. "He is trying a little too hard to be a hero, and is leaving the rest of his life behind," executive producer Brian Peterson told the magazine.
John Corben (a.k.a. Metallo) is a new reporter at the Daily Planet who ends up with a Kryptonite heart. As for his backstory: "We know that there’s multiple versions of Metallo," executive producer Kelly Souders explained. "We picked one of the different versions and I think people will realize which one after the first episode."
- Regarding Zod: "We had a little peek at who Zod was a couple of seasons ago, which fans will remember. But this a different incarnation of Zod," Peterson said. "We’re introducing him as Major Zod—this is before he became General Zod." Souders added that "over the course of the season, the venomous side of Zod rises because he experiences a few key betrayals with our beloved characters." Read the entire TV Guide Magazine article

You never know who you're going to randomly bump into here at Comic-Con. Take last night. I'm innocently munching on a spicy tuna roll at Warner Bros' Asian-themed cocktail reception and who should wander over to say hello but Smallville exec producer Brian Peterson. Good times, right? It gets better. The dude, who's in town for the show's historic Con panel on Sunday, talked my ear off about his blockbuster plans for season 9 and beyond. What follows after the jump are some of the highlights…

* Season 9's theme is "Clark's darkest hour."

* Look for a season-long love triangle with Clark, Lois, and Red-Blue Blur.

* Chloe, still grieving over Jimmy's death, will immerse herself in all things Watchtowerish. Peterson also hinted at some tension for Chlark when she realizes she's no longer content just being his sidekick.

* We'll find out why Clark isn't flying in a scene with him and Jor-El (the returning Terence Stamp) in the season premiere.

* Footage of Brian Austin Green as Metallo will be unveiled at tomorrow's Con panel. As of now, he's on board for two episodes, but Peterson says they're hopeful he'll do more.

* The episode they're currently shooting (either 9.02 or 9.03) focuses on Oliver's downward spiral.

* Battlestar Galactica's Alessandro Juliani will reprise his role as Dr. Emil Hamilton for several episodes this season.

* Story-wise, Peterson is not approaching this season as Smallville's last.

* I saved the best for last: Peterson recently had dinner with Michael Rosenbaum. Interpret as you like.

Sorry I didn't post this yesterday.  Yesterday was my 23rd birthday and I went out for the evening.  Anyway, here it is:

Question: The Smallville trailer that was screened at Comic-Con appears to show Lois and Clark having sex. Are appearances deceiving? —Antonio
Ausiello: Sort of. “It’s more than just sex,” counters exec producer Brian Peterson. “They’re making love. Clark would never [just have sex].” Hope that clears up any confusion!

Question: A lot of rumors going around about Michael Rosenabum returning to Smallville this season. What’s the real deal? —Ethan
Ausiello: The real deal is there’s no deal. Yet. “We would love to have him back,” says Peterson. “But there’s no movement on that.”

Episode #9-7: "Crossfire" November 6, 2009

Episode #9-8: "Kandor" November 13, 2009

UPDATED 8/13/09: With a title like that, could Kara be returning? Or might it be a Zod flashback episode? (We can only pray.)

I heard eps 9 & 10 are called Pandora-9  & Crash-10.

Eps#9-8  Kandor is a ZOD flashback eps with rumours of some kind of Jor-el encounter.(welling for Jor-el ??)but no kara!

Also devotedtotomwelling  site supposedly has some "set photos" of Clark in "proto suit" on the forums though haven't seen them myself i think you need to post so many threads before you can view certain parts of the site.
(which is lame) can anyone find these ??
Posted:  14 Aug 2009 04:44
most of them are just rumor, no pics mik, as for episode 8, we're not sure if kara will be back or not--most likely no but who knows?  we also no nothing about whether or not it will be a zod flashback or not--it's all just speculation at this point

More info on Justice Society.

NEWS POSTED AUGUST 17, 2009
Geoff Johns Teases "Society"
An as-yet-unscheduled episode of Smallville Season Nine, titled "Society," was announced at the Comic-Con International in San Diego last month. The episode features the legendary Justice Society of America and brings back writer Geoff Johns ("Legion") who has quite a bit of experience with the characters in the comics.

Johns and the producers have remained fairly tight-lipped about the content of the episode and which characters will be appearing. However, KryptonSite was able to catch up with Mr. Johns for a brief quote:

"The Justice Society will be heroes that come out of 'retirement' to see how the current generation operates. Can't say much more than that right now. Sorry! "

Hopefully more information about "Society" will be coming soon.
