It let me down it started out cool with Clark telling Lana and going to the Fortress ,but eventually they broke up when I think he still could have told her the truth with some warnings like don't go by Lex's house or stay with me or something like that now she's pissed at him cuz he won't be honest(I don't blame her )It coulda have ended a lot stronger. and as far as pa kent being killed I think that was a good move now Lex will be the Senator and possibly start to assume the role of the villain,because he already was acting like an ass to Lana.He turned to the Dark side

Yes that is a part I was kinda upset about I was hopeing that Lana would find out his secret and not have her some how forget not remember it.
I have wanted Clark and Lana to be together since I started watching this show. They look good together and we now know Lana would except him for who he is, and most of all they really do love each other.
I have a question does anyone know if maybe on the show smallville they might have clark and Lana end up together instead of have Clark later end up with Lois?
I would much rather Clark and Lana, I mean after all of this they deserve to be with one another.

It's too bad that the writers feel like they're constrained because of earlier writers' interpretations of what should happen.
Oh yeah, if the writers go by actual law then Lex would not automatically become senator of the state. The governor would have to appoint somone.
By the way, I am one of the few folks here that keep hoping the writers will put Clark and Chloe together. I mean, Chloe already knows Clark's secret, and they never really have resolved how Clark feels about Chloe. Well, I'll keep hope'n.

Hey Bizaro,
I have a source that says that Martha will take over as Senator, that will be cool. I think she will find out that Lionel was the one who caused Pa kent to have a heart attack and have him killed.

i think it was cool when clark flew lana up to the ledge in the fortress. the flying looked kind of corny though. i also thought it was cool when clark turned back time. sooo awesome!!!

He didn't fly he did his famous 1/4 mile jumy like when he had to stop the missile from destroying Smallville. Didn't Jor-el turn back time not Clark.

 I hope clark can get back together with lana because lex doesnt deserve her and will use her to get clark's secret i hope things go well after jonathon i mean losing your girlfriend and losing your adoptive dead can make you go crazy i hope to see clark kick some butt (especially jor-el) in the next episode!

ya i thought early part of show was cool i was sad at first when i thought lana was dead then they pulled a 360 on everybody and then mr kent died right after winning the senator role that sucked still not sure who would have missed more lana or mr kent but it was a ok episode very powerful.

ok, this is really annoying me now, ok clark proposes to lana, tells her everything. Then she dies, so clark goes to jurel and tells him to change everything. But if u think about it, clark saves lana anyway....she would have died no matter what whether he told her or not. Just jurel killed someone else....so as he has now sacraficed a life for his return, y cant he tell lana? It won't really make a difference?

exactly, so he's really just bein a ponse not saying anything to her. I think these guys to get something sorted out here! He's superman.....he can save anyone! Well apart from his dad, which was devastating.....and Lex, well, that guy needs to sort his head out!! Kissin lana, what is he thinking?

yeah i really like dthe episode and all.....but the main point was that he could have told her and saved her.......so why doesnt he just tell her now, cus im pretty sure in the comics Lana knows.....Tim would be able to verify that for me im sure

I pretty much felt the same way about this episode as Bizarro did; it started out cool, then became a dissappointment.
It's like the writers wanted a way to keep the whole Clark-Lana thing going in an endless loop. And I didn't find the death of Jonathan Kent a "powerhouse" ending; it felt cheap and gimmicky, similar to what was done in Lost, when they announced that someone's gonna die. Chloe did make a nice reference to the old Superman movie when she said, "What did you do, fly around the earth several times?"
So far, this mid part of the season is not living up to the early part. But that's usually what happens in Smallville, which always has a great season premiere and a great season finale, yet some of the middle parts just aren't as good. Solitude was the last good episode for me. The next 4 episodes have pretty cool titles, so hopefully, it'll pick up.
