Yes Tim, I think The Rock would make a good Thor especially given his bulky frame. Does anyone know anything about the upcoming movie He-Man and is it based on the newer Masters of the Universe cartoon. Hey buggs0268 did you ever think you might read more entertainment magazines and websites than Tim. That is why you knew about and he didn't.
Posted:  05 Sep 2005 18:19
Uh thanks buggs0268, I did eventually find that out.

superjon the Rock might actually make a good Thor size wise. He'd have to wear a blond wig though. For some reason I picture the Rock as a super guy from New York. I could see him as Luke Cage, but of course Cage is a black super hero, and the Rock is what Indian or something. Power Man and Iron Fist used to be one of my favorite books back in the 80's. I wish somebody would get them on screen. The Rock might also make a good villain like the Wrecking Crew.  I think maybe we should start a new thread at superherouniverse.com for this discussion.

The Rock is of polenesian decent actually. I think his parents are from Hawaii. I think he would look great in a blonde wig especially with his olive complexion. Mate you lot must get a lot more different comics than we do over here because I have no idea who you are talking about with regards to Luke Cage, Power man, Iron fist or Wrecking crew. Sorry!
Posted:  06 Sep 2005 22:25
Luke Cage and Iron Fist were big Marvel Comics characters back in the 70's and 80's. Believe it or not Nicholas Cage the actor actually got his stage name from Luke Cage. The wrecking crew are Marvel villains. The last time I remember seeing them in a comic was back in a 1980's Spiderman.

In regards to the Rock I don't know why Hawaii didn't hit my mind. I guess I was think of Indians because where I live most people have Cherokee Indian in their blood. I've got a little bit myself.

Yeah Tim but I didn't think native North Americans were a race of large built people. I thought they were kind of smallish in stature much like the native South American.
Posted:  07 Sep 2005 15:57
That might explain why I'm so short, but then again I remember reading a book when I was a kid that said that Cherokee Indians were tall. Oh well

Yes well maybe to the ethnicity of a native North American they were a tall race but they are probably the exception to the rule. If you want to see a race of large people take a look at the moari, samoan or tongan people because I often see young males, mid to late teens, of this race around the place and they are like 6'2"/6'3" , about 220-230 lbs. they can sometimes continue to grow to about 6'5"/6'6", about 250-260 lbs. The women are usually not that far behind then in physical features either. I mean even they can get to 5'10" to 6' and weigh 200 lbs.

Singer even got into trouble for trying to mix his sexlife with his work life while he was making Apt Pupil...
Posted:  27 Oct 2005 20:18
I didn't know about that. Its about time he got in trouble for something like that. It would be nice if he got in trouble for trying to mix it with Superman.
Posted:  01 Nov 2005 17:25
I didn't know Singer was gay.  But if he were a consumate professional, it should not affect how the Superman movie would be made.

Superman, first and foremost, is the creation of Siegel and Schuster, and though there have been some changes over the decades on his powers and background, every artist/storyteller has been true to the essence of just what and who Superman is.  As long as Singer also stays true to that vision, then the movie will probably turn out pretty good.

If Singer leaves his professionalism behind (which I doubt he'd do) and decides to push his own agenda, no matter how causeworthy it is, he becomes untrue to the original vision of Superman, and in effect does a dis-service, not only to the people that's grown up on Superman, but to it's original creators.

Superman is no ordinary comic hero ... he's actually a symbol.  He's a flag.

Good point kazaadude but Fox studios and Marvel comics gave Singer the power to alter the look of the costumes on the X-men and he changed their suits quite dramatically from how they look in the comics but I am hoping that Warner Bros and D C comics exercise some corporate muscle by having their say before the movie gets it's final go ahead for release. I think D C comics will ask their superman fans through the comics to get a final, and hopefully deciding, decision.
Posted:  03 Nov 2005 12:38
Yep, the X-men suits were very different.  Changing the X-men and changing Superman are 2 very different matters, though.  I hope like you said that DC flexes their muscles to make sure there aren't too many drastic changes.
Posted:  04 Nov 2005 09:45
I am guessing Marvel and Fox didn't flex their muscles with regards to the X-Men because they liked the changes. I hope D C and WB don't like the changes and do something to stop the slow destruction of an icon by Singer and his merry crew of misfits.

Most of you are right, that costume sucks balls. That's al there is to tit. WE want TOM!!!!!

What is the meaning behind the women's low rider panties and push-up bra symbol on his chest. Yes, he may have the look but if you don't have correct costume you don't have anything. Superman has a "S" symbol that fit his entire chest boldly, not plastic or Playdough. He also had fitting trunks that his belt held at the waist not not on his hips (ASS) like some gay stripper. His colors are RED, BLUE and Yellow not Rust, sludgewater and mucus. Let him again be Super and a MAN!!!!!

Agree completly with the second part of the argument howieboy17. Thanks for saying it how it is.

I also disagree greatly with the fact that in this movie and in smallville they use men with extremely "pretty" model looks. Who says a superhero has to be incredible "pretty"?? I disagree entirely.

I liek to think Superman stands for other values rather than looking like a magazine model.

Just by seeing this suit I suspect this movie will not be as good as it could have, because they wont respect what superman stands for.

Hopefuly this piece of garbage gets derstoyed in the movie.

That would be sweet if they did. Then at the end he'd have to switch to the comic book-styled costume.

A bit off-subject, but has anyone noticed that Kate's Loic Lane looks like a blonde who has dyed her hair brown and put on glasses to make guys at the snooty bar think she's smart? I once saw a girl do that in college and when I saw a picture of Kate in Wizard Magazine it made me think of it.

Also at the end of Superman II, Supes apologizes to the President for being away so long and promises that it will never happen again. Then at the begining of this movie (which I am to understand takes place between II and III?) he has been gone for a number of years. I know it's a small point, but it's just one more thing that proves my point that they should have started over with the Superman movies instead of stepping on the 1978 franchise.

I'm still planning on paying to see this movie, but the number of strikes are starting to add up. I see another Fantastic Four movie on the horizon (and I don't mean the FF sequel).

Thats what they should have done, start the Superman franchise over again, and use the suit from the comics.
Posted:  20 Feb 2006 20:42
I bet they got the design of this suit out of a porn magizine.

What a bunch of pathetic loser fan boys you all are. These sights are always good for a couple of laughs. Superman has always been for homos. Why else would he be wearing those tights. Grow up and maybe some of you can maybe get laid.

Hey coolerthanyou dude, you sound like a overweight momma's boy. I'll bet you wouldn't last two seconds on a basketball court with me without falling over from a heart attack. What are you 45 living at home still?

It's always the big mouths that are the biggest wimps.

coolerhtanyou,
I have no clue whom you are or why you even care what we like. Evediently you have some kind of efatcuation (sp) with tormenting people because they like some thing since you said "These sights are always god for  a couple of laughs." Meaning you dumb ass must have interly way to much time on your hands if you spend you time looking at these sights to get a laugh also you must have no life if you can do that. But then again you had to take the time to register to talk on this chat boared. So if you want to call people names or make smart as comments how about go to yahoo chat rooms or some thing like that and talk shit and make dumb un educated guess about people on this bored. Thank you and have a nice freakin life asswhole.

he (cooler) must be a homo himself
Posted:  24 Feb 2006 04:29
Lets just ignore this person. The suit is gay, and Singer is gay.
Posted:  24 Feb 2006 06:03
What is this word gay? Happy???
Posted:  26 Feb 2006 03:50
Personally I can't stand the suit.  It's off color, the symbol is wrong, the belt is gay, the panties are gay.  Hell, Singer is gay.  He did a good job with the X-Men movies, so I'll hold out hope for the movie, but if he turns it into some libral gay rights crap I'm gonna be sick.

Well here is something interesting for everyone to think about. On the superman homepage there is a link that takes you to an interview with Richard Donner and he believes that Bryan Singer is the best person for job of directing this new superman movie. A pretty good recommendation I would say. I personally think that they made a misjudgement with colours of the suit more than anything else about it because if you see it reworked with a brighter red it is much better.
