Iron Man 3 filming starts TODAY… Cast and Production News
Yes it’s true. Iron Man 3 has officially started development on the film today… apparently it’s ‘the first day of principal photography on ‘Iron Man 3′ (production name ‘Caged Heat’)‘ in Wilmington, North Carolina… I don’t really care where they are shooting. Just that it was only a month ago that I saw the Avengers Assemble on screen and already Marvel are straight on to making the ‘dis-assemble‘ individual storylines… I peronally think that people will want to savour the Avengers and the awesomeness of the team assembling instead of just going to see the next one a year later… people need a break. What’s that old saying, ‘Absense makes the heart grow strong…’. I think that applies for everything you love, especially when it’s a love for heroes…
Anyway… Here is the latest NEWS about Iron Man 3…
Production News
- As I said in the title, filming starts today, Wednesday 23rd May 2012, not even three weeks after The Avengers Assemble at cinema in the U.S.
-The production, which is expected to have a budget upwards of $200 million, will create 550 “high-quality, well-paying jobs” and 1,000 talent opportunities, according to the N.C. Governor’s Office.
-In April, thousands of people turned out for an extras casting call at Independence Mall for “Caged Heat,” a title known as one of the code names for “Iron Man 3.”
-Earlier this month, “Iron Works Productions” submitted a filming permit application to the City of Wilmington on behalf of the film “Caged” for permission to close down Chestnut Street between 2nd and 3rd streets from 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.
-Shane Black takes over directorial duties from Jon Favreau, who helmed the first two “Iron Man” films. Black’s credits include 2005′s “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” which also starred Robert Downey Jr.
Cast News
-“Iron Man 3″ will obviously star Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow. There has been rumours and talks that Sir Ben Kingsley may play a villain in the film, however he may not be the primary evil-doer, according to Hollywood trade magazines.
-James Badge Dale, Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce also have been in talks to join the cast for the thrid film… I really hope Guy Pierce is in the film… I love him…
