I haven't heard anything on the new Superman costume in the news reports. I know from all the messages on this forum and elsewhere there is a lot of ill will toward the new Supes suit, but nothing in the news on the net. I was hoping that Bryan Singer would take notice and make some fast corrections. I personally have waited a long time for this movie and I want it to succeed. If it doesn't, the reign of comic book movies is probably over. On top of that I've been looking forward to another Superman film since I was a kid. Now I have a kid of my own and I wonder is it even possible for today's kids to get the same amount of wonder as I did seeing Superman the movie with Christopher Reeve.
I have a lot of faith in Bryan Singer's ability to put together a good movie, but I am really concerned about the whole ignoring the fan reaction to the suit thing. I know sometimes you have to go with your instinct and not bow to public opinion, but the suit is not one area I would take a stand on. It's not worth a muli million dollar budget loss.
Has anyone else read any articles suggesting that any of the big wigs are even paying attention to this costume crisis? __________________
Blows my mind that they have a guy who looks like a child molester in a crappy suit. I really wish Tom would step up to the plat and give us a movie worthy of the legacey.

ROUTH SUCKS AND NOW THE COSTUME SUCKS. SCRAP THE MOVIE, WAIT FOR WELLING, AND DO IT RIGHT. I HAVEN'T BEEN WAITING 20 YEARS FOR THE PIECE OF CRAP THAT SINGER AND WB IS GOING TO PUT OUT NEXT SUMMER.

Well I know one thing if Superman isn't Tom Welling and the rest of the cast doesn't come from Smallville's ultimate version of Superman's supporting cast I won't be seeing this in the theaters. I might rent it since I have a monthy Blockbuster rental deal where I can rent as many as I want. If things get worse though I might ignore this movie like I did Catwoman. Still haven't seen the movie.

I think if we really want to let the movie big wigs know how we feel about the new suit the maybe some should find a website address to send our emails to so we can voice our anger where it should go.

I think we all need to move on. Yes welling wouldve been good but hey he didnt wanna do it so forget it. In my opinion they have someone who is unknown so to me will be nobody but Superman and he even looks like superman.
He stands tall enough and when a bullet bounces off of him i'll believe it, when he flies i'll believe it.
Also, i think the suit is perfect. The small S makes it a bit more subtle than the original suit which to be honest wouldve been a bit laughable in the very modern Metropolis that Bryan will create.

They are probably debating wether or not to forcr Singer to change the suit, or fire him and have Richard Donner take over.

I was wondering if anybody else thought that they should have approached Richard Donner to direct this one. I also read in another part of the Supermantv.net site about the comics that there is another version of Superman 2 and maybe they should have gone with that storyline just reshooting it in an updated form or maybe they did. The first draft of the suit on capedwonder.com was pretty much the superboy costume from the 80's show. I still don't get why they didn't go with that suit, just lengthen the cape and put the new S on it. I mean how many non superman fans ( may they all be sent to the phantom zone) would even remember the series.

No, Snyderman, you are not the only one who thinks Tom, at this point in time, doesn't suit the part. Hey now here is an idea how about they make a Lois and Clark telemovie in about 3 or 4 years and use Tom and Erica for the title roles. By this time they will both look to old for their present roles as teenagers.

yeah i hear that, i just think tom welling is represented as a teenager/early 20's now, so he cant possibly be superman yet, maybe if they made a sueprboy movie
