Guest Stars: Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow)
- UPDATED 10/23/07: The Black Canary appears in this episode (hence, the "Siren"), and yes, Oliver Queen is back too.
- UPDATED 10/18/07: This is looking more and more like it will be the "return of the Green Arrow" episode, though we still cannot confirm anything. (UPDATED: See Oct. 23 news)
- UPDATED 10/11/07: Smallville creator Al Gough tells TV Guide that Chloe will be "in quasi-Watchtower mode around Episode 11."
"You'll discover that she is still doing odd jobs for Oliver and the gang on the side," Gough says. __________________
Guest Stars: James Marsters (Brainiac), Michael Cassidy (Grant Gabriel)
- UPDATED 10/24/07: Someone is shot in this story. Then again, this is Smallville, where people are shot at every other episode.
Episode #7-11: "Siren" Air Date: January 2008
Guest Stars: Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow)
- UPDATED 10/25/07 (Thanks T.F.!): Smallville's version of Dinah Lance (Black Canary) is the host of a conservative talk radio show. Kind of like Ann Coulter without the Adam's apple.
- Like the comics, Dinah has dark hair, but wears a wig while in action as the Black Canary.
- UPDATED 10/23/07: The Black Canary appears in this episode (hence, the "Siren"), and yes, Oliver Queen is back too.
Episode #7-12: "Fracture" Air Date: 2008
- UPDATED 10/26/07: Remember how, for "Persona," we talked about someone being shot as if it was a common occurrence? Well, it happens again here, and this time, yet again, it's Lex.
- It sounds like this will be another "Lexmas"-style jaunt into Lex's psyche. Casting notices have gone out for "Alexander," which sounds like it will be a representation of Lex's younger self.
- Another role being cast is for a character named "Jacob Finn," but we don't know anything about him.

Episode #7-13: "Hero" Air Date: 2008
- UPDATED 10/26/07: A character that fans have been wanting to see on Smallville for the past few seasons should be appearing in this one.

However, we cannot confirm this at this time and we figure the real news of the casting will be released through official media. We will say she definitely looks the part.

...I'm not sure if they just mispelled ot or what but it's Jax-Ur not Dax-Ur--there is no Dax-Ur.
Jax-Ur was an amoral, and criminally deviant scientist on the planet Krypton. He was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for destroying Wegthor, one of the Krypton's inhabited (Population: 500) moons while experimenting with a nuclear warhead-equipped rocket. Jax-Ur's intention was to launch and test-fire it against a passing space rock. If this test proved successful, Jax-Ur would then commence the build-up of a massive, privately-held nuclear arsenal which he would overthrow the Kryptonian government, and place the entire planet under his dominion.
I wonder what he's doing on Earth... __________________

Finally, the movie Jimmy. You know he's going to come face to face with Smallville's 'James' somehow.
When do you think Gene Hackman will show up? __________________

Hard to say about Gene Hackman, that would be cool if they had a good part for him to play. Hey how about Jackie Cooper? __________________

Question: How happy are you that the Smurfs are finally being released on DVD on Feb. 26? Because of this fantastic news, how 'bout a little Smallville scoop? — Melanie
Ausiello: Well, I'd be even happier if it was coming out three days earlier (hint, hint), but Feb. 26 will do just fine. On the Smallville front, as I promised in this week's AR vodcast, the identity of the mystery person whom Chloe confronts in the Nov. 8 episode is none other than… Lana! Clark's BFF basically issues Lana an ultimatum: You hurt my friend, you deal with me.
Question: I wondered if you could give me any news about Smallville. — Sergei
Ausiello: In the Nov. 15 episode, we'll learn that two characters (one evil, one presumably good) are in cahoots. And that can only mean bad things for a certain unnamed heroine.

All right!! You tell her Chloe!! __________________

Confirmed...with spoilers!!
Episode #7-11: "Siren" Air Date: January 2008
Guest Stars: Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow), Alaina Huffman (Dinah Lance/The Black Canary)
- UPDATED 11/1/07: New spoilers from TV Guide:
- Yes, the Black Canary will be wearing fishnets.
- When we first see the Black Canary, she is a vigilante working for Lex Luthor.
- The Justice League has been thwarting every one of Lex's plans, and he's not too happy about it. Lex tells her that if she brings him the Green Arrow, he will make it worth her while.
- Green Arrow and Black Canary won't be romantic partners yet. "It’s the very beginning of their relationship," Al Gough told TV Guide. "At the end of the episode you clearly see that they have some sparks."
- It has been confirmed that Alaina Huffman has been cast as the Black Canary, as originally reported on Rumorville earlier this week.
- UPDATED 10/31/07: When Oliver gets back to Metropolis, he doesn't immediately tell Lois he's back in town.
Quote: I believe Jackie Cooper passed away D. I could be wrong though. Will check later.
Quote: I don't see a date of death for Jackie Cooper on imdb.com. Says he was born 15 September 1922.
Yeah, I thought Jackie Cooper had passed away too, but I could not find a date of death anywhere for him. I figured I was mistaking his death for Glen Ford passing away not too long ago. Still, I could be wrong.
Also, I wonder when Alaina Kalanj started going by Alaina Huffman. __________________

Nov. 2 -- For a relatively unknown actress, landing a coveted role on a hit series can be a lot to handle, but sweet Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort seems to be taking it all in stride ... for the most part. The sexy gal, who was previously only known for The N's 'Instant Star,' is one the fall's hottest breakout stars as Supergirl on The CW's 'Smallville.'
AOL TV's Angel Cohn caught up with the lucky gal to find out how she scored the smokin' hot part of Clark Kent's out of this world cousin, what sort of temptations her newfound fame is presenting (Playboy?) and what it's like to kick some bad guy butt.
How did you get this gig?
I heard they were casting for Supergirl and thought that would be a cool role. I put myself on tape because I was shooting 'Instant Star.' I thought they were never going to watch my tape because there are thousands of blonde blue-eyed girls in LA alone. It's wild.
Are you a fan of the Superman mythology?
Oh yeah! I watched 'Smallville' for the first two seasons until I got busy with school and work. But my dad used to watch the Christopher Reeve movies and I saw the new movie ('Superman Returns').
What is it like to play this iconic character?
There's a lot of pressure to play her the way fans would like to see her portrayed. I want to put my own little spin in there as well. I was nervous coming into this trying to make everyone happy, but now I've realized I've just got to do it the way that makes me happy and the way I see her. So far, so good.
You have so much experience in martial arts, has that been useful?
Yeah. I have my second degree black belt, so that really helps with all of the stunts.
Do you get to do much flying?
They've had me in a harness and I'm doing a lot of the flying on green screen. I've done all my own stunts so far. It's cool. Sometimes they're like, "Uh ... " But I'm like, "I can do it!" If it is dangerous I have a stunt girl who is great.
You seem excited to play an action hero.
When I was younger I loved 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' and ('Alias' star) Jennifer Garner. I've always loved action films and (action) actresses.
How is the cast treating you as the new girl?
I was nervous going in but they are all great, especially Erica (Durance) who plays Lois Lane. She took me under her wing because she was the new girl once. I'm happy that everyone is so down to earth. I was nervous just to meet the cast ... and a little star struck as well.
Are you happy that it is shot in Canada and not in L.A.?
I'm not an L.A. girl. I was there (recently) because my boyfriend (actor Corey Sevier) was shooting an ultimate fighting movie and he was invited to the Playboy mansion (to watch) an ultimate fight championship that was going on. We were both at the Playboy mansion ... it was interesting. I got to meet Hugh Hefner. It is not what you would expect, we all just watched the fight and it was really nice.
Did you agree to pose for Playboy?
No! I'm not going to do any of that stuff ... ever! Take my word on it.
Well, I did see you on the cover of Stuff magazine looking very um ... sultry.
They are a nice magazine and they offered the cover. I only agreed to do it if I could be classy and covered up.

She just stole my heart. Now if only she was dark haired.
As for the rest she seems like a really smart girl--not one of your typical blondes. She'll be, and is, an awesome supergirl. __________________

Dude, did you have to go to the "dumb blondes" bit??? Haha, I know you were just kidding Aero. __________________

I'm sure there are many smart blondes out there...Unfortunately there are too few here in SoCal.
I'm at work (Jamba Juice) and I give this blonde girl her smoothie and she just stares at me. So I say "Kelly?" (i think that was her name) Here's you smoothie. she asks "what is this?" and i say a little blandly "it's your smoothie" she says "Oh,--wait, this isn't Starbucks?".
True Story.
...sad, but true. __________________

Yeah, but you know the old song, "I wish they all could be California, girls" There must be some reason the Beach Boys keep singing that song. __________________
