Got something breakthroughs that will make you say, 'OH...SNAP!!!'
Major "Veritas" Clues In TV Guide The March 24-30, 2008 issue of TV Guide magazine has an interview with Smallville Executive Producer Alfred Gough about next week's episode "Veritas." The interview also offers some hints about Thursday's "Traveler." Here are some highlights of Al's interview with TV Guide's Rich Sands: - Because of the strike, there was a chance that "Veritas" could be the season finale, so, in Al Gough's words, "We went in and raised the cliff." - Long time fans will be rewarded with revelations about the show's mythology and connections between Lionel Luthor, Virgil Swann, Genevieve Teague, and others. They all formed a secret society called "Veritas." "These families were united in a common quest that went horribly awry," Gough told TV Guide. "And obviously that common quest involves a certain Kansas farmboy." - Brainiac also returns in "Veritas," and Gough hints that "Kara is a key ingredient to his next plot." Source: Kryptonsite. Here's the quote from Entertainment Weekly Magazine:
Quote: Smallville Returned March 13, 8PM The CW WHERE WE LEFT OFF: The show’s been on-and-off all year, and the final March episodes will see Tom Welling’s proto-Superman harassed by Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), who remains determined to crack the secrets of Clark’s Kryptonian cousin Kara (Laura Vandervoort). UP NEXT: In April, look for the death of a longtime character. “ It kicks off a big story that puts Lex and Clark at incredible odds”, says exec producer Al Gough. The season could mark Lex’s departure, as Rosenbaum’s contract is up: “The cliff-hanger could go either way for Lex,” says Gough. Meanwhile, the May 1 outing, Smallville’s 150th and directed by Welling, brings a “final showdown” with James Marsters’ Brainiac. Take a look at these.
And this on 'Descent'. Is it a possible clue to who dies?? Smallville's Luthor Begins 'Descent' Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) will go bad once and for when The CW's Smallville returns with new episodes later this month, executive producer Brian Peterson and co-executive producer Kelly Souders told SCI FI Wire. "I would say if you are going to watch one episode of Smallville, you need to watch 'Descent,'" the April 17 episode, Peterson said in an interview. "It is pivotal. It is up there with Clark [Tom Welling] opening the Fortress of Solitude. It's right up there." Souders added: "Lex has had a lot of challenges in his life, and he's sort of gone and sat on that fence all these years. This is the episode he leaps off of it." "Descent" deals with Luthor's decline into "his own personal hell," Peterson said. "There is a major turn that happens in his life that drives him into pure darkness. ... It's Lex's real descent into the villain he becomes. I think that is what fans have been waiting for. It's what I’ve been waiting for," Peterson added with a laugh. Before that, look for James Marsters to return in the role of Brainiac in the March 27 episode, "Veritas," which was written by Peterson and Souders. In the episode, Kara (Laura Vandervoort) decides to teach Clark to fly to help him battle Brainiac. As for the possibility of an eighth season, Peterson and Souders are hopeful. Regardless of whether or not The CW renews the series, the duo is thrilled with how this season is shaping up. "It's all because of the fans," Peterson said. "That's what's great. They have been so loyal. We have plenty more in store for them that they will be excited about." Smallville airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT. --Kathie Huddleston Sources: Devoted to Smallville & SciFi Wire. __________________ "Here comes the (BOOM!)

As they say when it comes to posting this, 'Better late than never.'
Entertainment Weekly has provided us with somewhat new information about future episodes. WHERE WE LEFT OFF: The show's been on-and-off all year, and the final March episodes will see Tom Welling's proto-Superman harassed by Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), who remains determined to crack the secrets of Clark's Kryptonian cousin Kara (Laura Vandervoort). UP NEXT: In April, look for the death of a longtime character. ''It kicks off a big story that puts Lex and Clark at incredible odds,'' says exec producer Al Gough. The season finale could mark Lex's departure, as Rosenbaum's contract is up: ''The cliff-hanger could go either way for Lex,'' says Gough. Meanwhile, the May 1 outing, Smallville's 150th and directed by Welling, brings a ''final showdown'' with James Marsters' Brainiac. Source: Smallville PH. __________________ "Here comes the (BOOM!)

Smallville Season Gears Up
Brian Peterson, executive producer of The CW's Smallville, told SCI FI Wire that the writers already are gearing up for the show's upcoming eighth season, thanks to an early pickup announcement. "We're always hopeful, and we always plan every year for a season finale, but it's really great when we get to tell one more year of Clark's story," Peterson said in an interview. "It's very early, and we really have to work in partnership with the studio, because right now we haven't presented anything to them," Peterson added with a laugh. Peterson was willing to share a few spoilers about the next season. "The things I think I can hint at are the Lois and Clark of it all," he said, referring to the 1990s Superman-themed series that ran on ABC. "It's really going to be a season about Lois [Erica Durance] and Clark [Tom Welling]." Peterson added that Clark will be facing "his own personal D-Day, and let people figure out what perhaps that means. And then I would say if people think Lex [Michael Rosenbaum] has issues now, wait until you meet his new sidekick. ... So those are the very preliminary brush strokes that we probably need to get into in the next few weeks." As for the current season, five new episodes will begin airing, starting on April 17, with the focus clearly on Lex's fall to the dark side, starting in the episode "Descent." "The rest of this season is, for the most part, about Lex finding what he's always been looking for," Peterson said. "'Veritas' [the last original episode to air] launched the next five episodes, which are all about Lex finding what he's been searching for." Smallville's season was interrupted by the recently settled writers' strike. "Veritas" was originally designed as an extended season finale. But it aired as an hour-long episode, with several scenes unfinished. Those scenes will now form the basis of the season's final episodes, Peterson said. "I think it's going to be nice to actually see each piece of that story, rather than have it all hit in one episode," he said. The finale will also set up the new season. "There's so much still to play," Peterson said. "People keep asking us all the time, 'When are you bringing in this character?' 'When are you doing this?' 'When are you doing that?' And we're like, 'We'll get there.' There're a lot of characters to service. So next year we have some real fun and clear ideas about what we're doing." Well, it doesn't get better.
Question: Any scoop on the 150th episode of Smallville? — Todd Ausiello: It's airing on May 1, it's being directed by Tom Welling, it features the return of James Marsters as Braniac, and, according to exec producer Al Gough, it's another one of those alt-reality romps, only this time "Clark has to look at a world where potentially he never crash-landed on Earth. It's basically a version that could have happened — and if Brainiac has his way, it will happen." Question: I really need some good Smallville scoop involving Lois and Clark. C'mon, help me out here. — Nora Ausiello: Help is on the way! In the aforementioned 150th episode, we'll get our first glimpse of Clark sporting an iconic Superman look. What does that have to do with Lois, you ask? Well, Ms. Lane's responsible for the wardrobe change! Question: Will Kristin Kreuk be back for any more episodes this season? And do you have any major news about the season finale? — Joel Ausiello: KK will be in some, but not all, of this season's remaining episodes, as she's currently in Thailand shooting Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Regarding the finale, I can tell you that the final scene(s) very much involve Lex finding some important pieces of the Superman puzzle. Hint: The title of the episode is "Arctic." Sources: Devoted to Smallville & Ask Ausiello. __________________ "Here comes the (BOOM!)
