Keith in Delaware: Is Smallville going to suck without Michael Rosenbaum this season? I know the answer, I think, but am hoping there is some kind of salvation.
Actually, I'm hearing some very cool things about the new season. The writers are going into more of the Metropolis/Lois-and-Clark storyline and moving away from Smallville. Clark is going to work at the Daily Planet, and with Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) coming back, you can bet your sweet booty that more members of the Justice League will be popping up again. Sounds good, yes? No?
Some stuff on the premiere and on the new characters!!
Episode #8-1: "Odyssey" September 2008
UPDATED 6/25/08: The new season begins several months after the events of the Season 7 finale.
- Casting is currently underway for "Kat," a young, eager assistant for Tess, who also makes her first appearance in this episode; and "Nikolai," a man who works on a boat with Clark near the Arctic. Roles also now being cast include a Researcher, a Scientist, and a Guard.
- Clark is brought home by some possibly-surprising rescuers.
- Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) returns in this episode.
Spoilers For Smallville Season 8!
UPDATED 6/20/08: Tess has the last name of "Mercer," and Davis Bloome (formerly thought to be a bartender) will now be a paramedic, as revealed in an official press release. The roles will be played by Sam Witwer and Cassidy Freeman.
UPDATED 6/27/08: The "Researcher," "Scientist," and "Guard" roles are involved with Chloe's storyline.
- When Clark returns to Metropolis, he'll have a big surprise for Lois.
Episode #8-2: "Plastique" Fall 2008
- There is a DC Comics villain named Plastique from Firestorm and Captain Atom comics, though we are not sure if that character has any connection to this episode's title.
Plastique's power in the comics is that she's able to expel an explosive force from her body. I'm curious on the effects they'll use for that and if they'll bring in either Captain Atom or Firestorm. __________________

Add this to the probably not file but I'm thinking that might be good title for Chloe expanding her power. __________________

BIG NEWS INCLUDING...THE RETURN OF THE JLA!!!
Episode #8-1: "Odyssey" September 2008
Directed By: Kevin Fair
Guest Stars: Alaina Huffman (Black Canary), Alan Ritchson (Aquaman), Phil Morris (John Jones/Martian Manhunter)
UPDATED 7/2/08: TV Guide has answered several of the questions about who might be saving Clark, and some new tidbits:
- Clark's rescuers will be none other than the Justice League. Expect to see not only Justin Hartley as the Green Arrow; Alan Ritchson will be returning as Aquaman, Alaina Huffman is back as the Black Canary, and Phil Morris makes his return as John Jones, the Martian Manhunter.
- The magazine also reveals what Clark's surprise is for Lois: He's taking the job at the Daily Planet, right acros from her desk. "This season's theme is 'double identities'," executive producer Kelly Souders told TV Guide. "It's about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life — or the appearance of a normal life."
- "The cameraderie as they work side-by-side that everyone loves from the DC Comics and all the Superman lore is going to come to fruition this year," Souders continues. "The two of them are thrown together in some unfortunate situations for Clark. She becomes a little bit of an obstacle to him saving the world, when he's on a deadline."

Get ready for the return of the Justice League. When Smallville comes back in September, the Super Friends reunite to search for Clark Kent, who went missing in May's season finale after tussling with Lex Luthor at the Fortress of Solitude.
Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have departed (and are currently producing the Hannah Montana movie), so four of the series' longtime producers have taken over for Season 8. "Luckily [Al and Miles'] voices are still talking to us in our heads as we're breaking stories," says Kelly Souders, who is running the show with Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. "Their visions come to us all the time, so I think they did a great job of preparing us for this day."
One of the first things the new quartet did was lock in Justin Hartley for at least 12 episodes as Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, a fan favorite who appeared frequently in Season 6 and once last season. He'll start this new chapter by gathering Aquaman and Black Canary to rescue Clark. Alan Ritchson and Alaina Huffman will reprise their roles, as will Phil Morris, whose Martian Manhunter also appears in the opener, titled "Odyssey."
This season's theme is "double identities," Souders says. "It's about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life — or the appearance of a normal life." To that end, he takes a job at the Daily Planet, right across the desk from Lois Lane (Erica Durance).
"The camaraderie as they work side-by-side that everyone loves from the DC Comics and all the Superman lore is going to come to fruition this year," Souders says. "The two of them are thrown together in some unfortunate situations for Clark. She becomes a little bit of an obstacle to him saving the world, when he's on a deadline." — Rich Sands

Now that Smallville's Lex is gone, please tell me Chloe will get her job back at the "Daily Planet." She was fired so unfairly. — twistedlyn
Matt: I want Allison Mack's plucky newshound back at work as much as you. Alas, Chloe will have some serious 'splaining to do before the government loosens the cuffs and lets her return to the keyboard. (For related news, see "Justice League Returns!")
Is Smallville planning to bring back John Glover, and for at least more than one episode? — Farhan
Matt: Are you one of those Australian viewers watching on a time delay? Lionel last was seen going kersplat! after son Lex pushed him out of a 40-story window. But because it's what we do here, I checked into his status. My CW pal shrugs, "He is pretty darn dead." Then again, this is Smallville....
UPDATED 7/2/08: This episode will explore Clark's first day on his new job and his teaming with Lois.
- The character of paramedic Davis Bloom makes his first appearance in this episode, and he interacts primarily with Chloe.
Directed By: Kevin Fair
Guest Stars: Alaina Huffman (Black Canary), Alan Ritchson (Aquaman), Phil Morris (John Jones/Martian Manhunter)
UPDATED 7/3/08: Chances are good for Tom Welling fans that we will see an unshaven Clark as the story picks up a few months after the previous finale.
Episode #8-2: "Plastique" Fall 2008
UPDATED 7/3/08: Contrary to some reports that Chloe will be serving time for a while... in actuality, Chloe will no longer be incarcerated by the time this episode happens.
- Justin Hartley (Oliver) and Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy) do not appear in this episode.
Question: Do you have anything about Chloe on Smallville? — Aqgalaxy
Ausiello: Get ready for a Jimmy/Chloe/Doomsday triangle, although I have a feeling I know which suitor will ultimately win her heart: the one who doesn’t turn out to be a serial killer! Just a hunch.
Question: I think your first "revolutionary new weekly column" should feature some Smallville spoilers. — Jesse
Ausiello: From everything I’m hearing, there will be a lot more comedy this season, courtesy of those new adventures Lois and Clark will be embarking on.
Written By: Holly Henderson & Don Whitehead
Directed By: Rick Rosenthal
UPDATED 7/9/08: Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has revealed that we may have a Chloe/Doomsday/Jimmy love triangle brewing. Also, regarding Lois and Clark at the Daily Planet: "There will be a lot more comedy this season, courtesy of those new adventures Lois and Clark will be embarking on."
ATTENTION, CHLOE FANS!! A WEDDING IS POSSIBLY GOING DOWN THIS SEASON!! CHECK IT OUT!!
Episode #8-1: "Odyssey" September 18, 2008
Directed By: Kevin Fair
Guest Stars: Alaina Huffman (Black Canary), Alan Ritchson (Aquaman), Phil Morris (John Jones/Martian Manhunter)
UPDATED 7/11/08: Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello dropped a big bomb in his latest "Ausiello TV" vodcast: Chloe says yes to Jimmy's proposal, setting the stage for a possible wedding later this season. Sorry, we don't make this stuff up...

IMO, No, I cannot decide if I'll even watch this season. It sounds like they're turning the program into the "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" series from the 90's. Oh well, it was a unique take for a while. __________________
The Bible is so powerful. It's not to be left on your shelf. It's to outline even the simplest scriptures that can mean so much in building yourself up.
"I am God's workmanship." (Ephesians 2:10)
"I have been redeemed and forgiven." (Colossians 1:14)
"I am the salt and the light of the earth." (Matthew 5:13-14)
Dude don't quit watching. It's not like there is anything better on the other channels. Besides I thought Lois and Clark got canceled too soon as it was. After all of the seasons of Clark and Lana, one last season or two of Lois and Clark isn't going to be that bad. It's got to happen sooner or later. __________________
