Bigger Yikes!! Another wrestler may come to Smallville. Check it out!!
Wrestler Matt Morgan As Doomsday?
UPDATED 2-23-09
TNA Wrestler Matt Morgan might be headed to Smallville as Doomsday. Here's what was reported on Wrestlezone.com:
"Matt talks about possibly being cast as Doomsday on the WB show Smallville. Matt originally was trying out for another part. He was too big for the character but when they realized his size they figured he would be great for the part of Doomsday. Unfortunately that part was already cast for Season 8. They are trying to write him into Smallville's 9th season (next fall) as the Doomsday character."
We are assuming that is referring to the creature version of Doomsday, and not the "Davis Bloome" alter ego that is played so well by Sam Witwer. The mention of Season 9 is curious, especially as Season 8 seems to be leading toward a conclusion for the Doomsday storyline. Either way, stay tuned and if more information about the 6'10" Morgan appearing on Smallville comes up, we'll post it on the News page.

Season 9...IS A GO!! YAY!!
Very Good News: It Looks Like Season 9 Is Happening!
TV Week's Josef Adalian has today posted a column announcing that the CW has picked up six of its successful series for another year, and yes, Smallville is on that list. An official announcement is said to be forthcoming.
Smallville joins Gossip Girl, 90210, America's Next Top Model, One Tree Hill, and Supernatural. Regarding Smallville specifically, Adalian said this:
"In the case of “Smallville,” producer Warner Bros. Television had been negotiating with series star Tom Welling to return. The CW’s renewal indicates the studio was successful in those conversations." __________________"Immortality! Take it! It's yours!" ~ Brad Pitt (Achillies) - Troy

Official confirmation.
Season 9 Confirmation: The Official Press Release!
THE CW ANNOUNCES EARLY PICKUPS OF SERIES
“Gossip Girl,” “One Tree Hill,” “90210,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “Smallville” and “Supernatural” To Return Next Season
February 24, 2009 (Burbank, California) ─ The CW announced today the early pickups of six series, including five of the network’s signature dramas and the reality hit AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which will all return in Fall 2009.
“As we continue to build The CW Network as a destination for young women, these six shows have clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity,” said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “By securing these signature hits for next season, we’re furthering our commitment to deliver high-quality, original programming to our viewers, advertisers and affiliates.”
Among the series receiving early pickups for next season are The CW’s Monday tandem of sophomore sensation GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL, which combined to lift The CW to become the fall’s #1 network on Monday with women 18-34. Both GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL have scored double-digit gains compared to their previous seasons. Freshman hit 90210 has improved the network’s Tuesday night by double-digit increases in key demos. Wednesday anchor AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which consistently wins its time period with young women, will also be back with superstar Tyra Banks and new groups of aspiring models for cycles 13 and 14.
Also renewed were the network’s established Thursday team of SMALLVILLE, in its ninth season, and SUPERNATURAL, which after posting ratings growth this season, will enter its fifth season next year.

I'm glad my two shows are back, but I wish CW would drop the chick shows and bring in some more action shows. They should have never canceled Angel. They should start a new show with Spike the vampire. __________________

From http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php
A source well positioned to know about these things told the Superman Homepage that at this point in a TV series Warner Bros. requires main cast members to sign a 2 year contract. Therefore Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen) and Erica Durance (Lois Lane) were all signed on for a possible 9th season when they negotiated their contracts at the beginning of Season 8.
So, with Tom Welling's original contract having been for 8 seasons, his new contract (signed for season 9) would most likely also be a 2 year deal, meaning there could potentially be a season 10! __________________

You're quite welcome. I come with more news. Let's put another smile on your face(s).
More Spoilers For Smallville Season 8 & Season 9!
UPDATED 2/25/09: The show has been renewed for a ninth season, and Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has implied that all cast members from Season 8 will be returning for another year except possibly for one: Sam Witwer (Davis/Doomsday). (Hopefully this means only that his role as Doomsday is up, and he'll be back as Zod... right?) When or if more details come out about Season 9, we'll post them. __________________"Immortality! Oh, hey I actually used to watch the original. I think I must have seen at least 3 episodes of that series over the 10 years it was on.
Can't live without Gossip Girl for heaven's sake. That and Jerry Springer are a must. __________________

Major gossip on the finale and it's BIG!!
Episode #8-22: Title Unknown May 14, 2009
UPDATED 3/5/09: Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly has revealed what might very well be the "very big thing" we teased for the finale: The Legion will return "in some form." Although we're not quite sure if he's confused and may have meant the Justice League instead. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Ausiello also has revealed that episodes #8-21 and #8-22 will focus on a manhunt for Chloe and Doomsday. Although, kind of interesting that Allison Mack is in #8-21 but Sam Witwer isn't, eh?
- Want to take bets that the finale itself will be called "Doomsday?"
Source: Kryptonsite.
Question: How about some Smallville news? --D-rick
Ausiello: The Legion will return in the May finale -- in some form. Also, I'm told this season's final two episodes will focus on a manhunt for Chloe and Doomsday.

Episode #8-17: "Hex" March 26, 2009
Written By: Bryan Q. Miller
Directed By: Mairzee Almas
Guest Stars: Serinda Swan (Zatanna)
UPDATED 3/5/09: Even though the official description contradicts this, we still are under the impression that it's not a direct body swap - Allison Mack will not be playing Lois.
- Even though a majority of Erica Durance's sceen time is as Chloe-as-Lois, Lois is present for Chloe's birthday party before leaving town on a story. She returns at episode's end and shares a scene with Clark. __________________"Immortality! Take it! It's yours!" ~ Brad Pitt (Achillies) - Troy

Spoiler on the finale!!
Episode #8-22: Title Unknown May 14, 2009
UPDATED 3/6/09: The printed edition of Entertainment Weekly contains a HUGE season finale spoiler not posted online by Ausiello: "A long-running character bites the dust." Time to place bets...?
Source: Kryptonsite.
The Grim Reaper is once again descending on Smallville, and this time he's not foolin' around.
Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that two pivotal characters will bite the dust in this May's season finale. And in a bit of a departure for Smallville, both deaths will stick. "These characters will die and they will stay dead," maintains my insider. "This is the real deal."
Of course, that's not to say producers aren't planning a twist or two, because they are. But I'm told those twists do not involve bringing either character back to life.
If you're looking for another clue, you're out of luck. I'm not even going to do one of those morbid charts where I assess each character's chances for survival. I wouldn't want to do anything beyond writing this spoilery story to ruin the surprises in store.
Eh, one more little tease won't hurt anyone: One character qualifies as a Smallville vet... the other one, not so much.

'Injustice' spoilers, including Chloe on the wrong team?!
Episode #8-21: "Injustice" May 7, 2009
Director: Tom Welling
Guest Stars: Alessandro Juliani (Dr. Hamilton), Jessica Parker Kennedy (Bette/Plastique)
UPDATED 3/6/09: Tess's gang includes characters named Plastique, Leech, Fallout, and Voltage. Plastique is, of course, Bette from the episode of the same name. Leech is not Eric Summers, sadly, but instead is a "cocky skate punk."
- Green Arrow saves Clark from the Leech character, and Clark discovers that Oliver has Lex's Kryptonite ring.
- Chloe seems to be working with the Injustice Gang; for why, we don't know, but she doesn't seem to be acting like herself.
- Tess is determined to find the Traveler.
- Clark confronts Oliver about having the kryptonite ring, and learns that Oliver obtained it after killing Lex (in "Requiem").
- Oliver gives Clark something that may help to vanquish Doomsday.
- Tess also seems determined to stop Doomsday.
- The "very valuable" thing Tess gets a hold of is the Phantom Zone crystal.

Bummer, I just rewatched the original Leech episode on DVD from the first season. That was such a tough episode. You guys remember the scene where he confronts the football jock and flips the vehicle?

Here's something.
Episode #8-22: Title Unknown May 14, 2009
UPDATED 3/8/09: The "very big thing" we teased... yep, it's more guest heroes. Though we're veering on the side of it being the Justice League rather than the Legion as Ausiello had hinted. Apparently a new set is being constructed to tie in with their return. Don't be surprised if even a character like Kara makes a return, too (though if it doesn't, this is speculation not a spoiler so don't blame KryptonSite for fake spoilers!).
