Comics continuum.com has a story on the new Legion of Super Heroes cartoon coming out on the WB.
http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0603/09/index.htm

It mentions Superboy. I knew they planned on using Supergirl, but Superboy's presence would be cool. I just wonder which version of Superboy it will be. If it's the original how are they going to explain that?

Members of the show include Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl, Timber Wolf, Phantom Girl and Bouncing Boy.

Yes you are truly a lucky dog Braniac 5. You will be famous beyond any green dude's dreams. Maybe even more than the Hulk who knows.

I wish they would star Super Tim.

Does anyone think the days of creating new superheroes is over? Will anyone in the forseeable future create an iconic superhero like Superman or Spiderman or have all the good superheros been created?
Posted:  13 Mar 2006 21:33
You never know. I think the biggest part of a popular hero is how well can you identify with their secret identity like Clark Kent's mild mannered act.

Superman is popular because of the depth of his character. Comes from another planet more advance than ours but lands in Kansans with a kindly old fashioned couple and grows up to move to a big city but keeps his moral and humble roots intact even though he can pick up a mountain.

Spiderman's Peter Parker is very intesting because we all relate to feeling less than a winner like Parker. We all want to see him win.

Could you imagine a popular hero with a super smug attitude becoming very popular. Not counting Wolverine of course.

No matter what their costume or powers as long as a hero has an interesting story to go with them they could become just as big as the big dogs, but of course it takes time to build up the same kind of following as Supes.

Think of all the kids who grew up reading and watching Superman. He's got fans in their 80's probably.

It could be a Superboy from a alternate dimenison maybe. Kinda like when Byrnes redid Superman I think it was issue #8 of Superman where Superboy appeared in that issue and fought Superman. Superboy was even more powerful than Superman at the time. I can't wait to see Superboy on on the new Legion of Super Heroes cartoon.

The first episode of Legion of Superheros was pretty cool. I liked it. Last Saturday as I was about to leave for work in the morning and I was watching tv and I saw that Legion of Superheros was going to be on at 9am(Central time for me.)so I popped in a tape in the old vcr and waited until I got home to check it out. The show looked Teen Titan-ish but in over all it was great. The Legion need another team member and went back in time to look for Superman. So they ended up in Smallville when Clark was still learning how to use his superpowers. On the show they seem to use the Clark from Smallville (Tv show kinda). Clark doesn't fly he runs super speed and he learns how too fly with the Legion. I can't wait for the next ep. Looks good for the show. I watched it so many times I hope I don't mess up the tape before I record the other ep's LMAO *ZANG!*

I liked it too except the first few minutes were hit and miss thanks to the rain. My stupid satellite kept going in and out. I hate satellite tv!

The same thing happened that night when I was trying to watch the Hulk on the new Fantastic Four cartoon on Cartoon Network.

Thank God it didn't rain last night when Smallville was on!

Yeah, I know what was it 3 new episodes and straight into rerunning. I wonder how many episodes they'll make per year like 10 or so.

I did like the episodes they've shown so far. Pretty cool stuff especially the first one where they show Clark in Smallville.

yeah that was great ep. It almost went with Smallville. Clark didn't fly he ran until he was in the future. Tho I loved the episode. The last one they showed was great. The girl who was the riches girl in New Metropolis. Alexa heh even had her hair fall off in the episode lol as soon as I saw that I was OMG! a Female Lex character

Oh yeah, I wonder if that is a real comic book character because I just know I'd seen that girl somewhere else.

I never read the Legion of Superheores comics, but I do know about them alittle. I know that Superboy joined them and appeared in the book. Strange that Clark went by the name Superman than Superboy in the new cartoon. I wonder if he will keep the name or change it later to Superboy. Since that's what he went by in the comics when he was younger. Time can only tell. But, it's great to see Superboy/Superman back on tv.
