SupermanTV.net Forum / Superman / Superboy / John Haymes Newton on SS DoomTrooper on Sci Fi last Saturday night.

I was watching Sci Fi Channel Saturday night while getting ready to head out to work and all of the sudden I see someone familar in the movie. It was John Haymes Newton. If you missed it this passed Saturday they re-run sci fi movies on Thursday night. Newton plays a british soldier that is part of a unit on a top-secret mission to thwart a Nazi plot to create an army of supersoldier/beasts. Kinda like a sci fi version of a Dirty Dozen. Because all the members of the unit were in prison in the military.

Yeah John seems to pop up on the odd show every now and then. Tim and I both noticed him in a couple of episodes of Desperate Housewives late last year. I think out of the two actors to play Clark/Superboy he is the one that bears the greater resemblence to Chris and I think that it would be good to see him play Jor-El in Smallville.

I noticed something wierd while working on my http://www.movie-poster.ws site. I was writing a review for "Walk the Line" and I found out on imdb.com that the star Joaquin Phoenix had guest starred on Superboy under the name Leaf Phoenix.

Didn't see which episode though.  He's the brother of River Phoenix.

Sorry I saw the movie last night so it's stuck in my head.

I'd like to see the Superboys and Dean Cain appear on Smallville. It would be neat if they had an alternate universe episode that used the old actors as Clark's alternates. I'd would love for Smallville to get more sci-fi instead of the freak of the week and horror type stories.

hey Tim, I saw the movie too

And if I remember correctly, I think I saw a post from Starkahuna that said they may be doing that alternative time frame thing. Can't remember which thread it was under, but he definitely mentioned it. maybe they will be doing it soon.

That be awesome if they did the Sovereign storyline. Clark some how goes into a alternate universe. Where he is *the Sovereign* and the ruler of Metropolis. It would be great if Dean, John and Gerard would appear in Smallville. Hey how about Clark seeing himself as Superboy? LMAO that would be so awesome. Seeing him in the suit.

The Sovereign storyline from the Hercules series of the 90's was a great idea and to somehow incorporate it into Smallville would be great idea too. Maybe they could have Dean or Gerard playing a young Perry White in the "other" dimension.

I think they should all play Superman from different time zones or dimensions.
Here's a pic from the soveriegn Superboy episode.

Anybody read the Batman/Superman comics storylines? They have Superman and Batman going through dimensions and time lines so much I don't know what's going on, but it's a lot of fun to read. They've even had Batman Beyond and Jonah Hex pop up.
