Got my latest Wizard magazine movie edition in the mail and Bryan Singer of Superman Returns said a few things you may or may not have already heard.
1. He says Hugh Jackman didn't play Jonathan Kent. He was just visiting the set. (Maybe it's a classic redirect, maybe he just wants to think that) You know it would really be wild if Jonathan Kent was played by John Schneider on Superman Returns.
2. He said he didn't follow the continuity of Smallville but he didn't think that he had treaded on it either. He said one could think watching the movie that Lex and Superman had know each other for a long time but it's not really implied one way or the other.
3. About Brando footage, he told Wizard - "Some of it is voice that was used you'll recognize. Some were lines that were never said on camera, and we use them in the Fortress of Solitude in a sequence in which he's represented physically in three dimensions that had to be done with a computer using photgraphic references. Even though we are not reconstructing Brando as a living character, he is represented in the Fortress.
4. Lex Luthor is the only villain in the movie. (I was kind of hoping for some kind of alien monstrosity or something)
5. Lex will be dark and angry for his time spent in prison, I suppose since Superman 2.
6. Superman's costume will be made from Kryptonian material and does not rip when he's shot.
7. The kryptonian technology is crystal based like the Superman movies and Smallville.
Also note that James Marsden will be on the movie and will be on X3 as Cyclops again.
