Supergirl Producer Teases Mon-El’s Inclusion in Season 2

By Jason Berman

After an up and down first season on CBS, Supergirl will return for a sophomore season this fall on The CW. Presumably banking on a second season, Supergirl hooked their audience for the following year with a well timed cliffhanger. After spoiling Non’s plan to kill all of humanity with Myriad, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) looked to be in a good place. Things were moving in the right direction with James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), her sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), was no longer on the run, and Kara even got a cushy new office at work. Rather than end things right there, Kara comes across a crashed pod that looks an awful lot like the Kryptonian one she arrived in over a decade earlier.

Even before Supergirl was officially renewed, there was immediate speculation over who was going to be in the pod. Eventually it was confirmed that The Vampire Diaries‘ Chris Wood would be the man in the pod. And then, during The CW’s presentation at the TCA’s summer press event, it was confirmed that the character Wood will be playing is none other than Mon-El, a Daxamite with abilities similar to Supergirl and Superman........

This should be very interesting.

"Although Lex Luthor is your ultimate opponent, you will triumph over him, and when you show yourself to the will be a different age than ours, Clark. A silver age of heroism...that will start when they look up into the sky at you...with hope for tomorrow. You will help everyone to embrace it."-Dr Fate
