Hey guys, I would really appreciate it if you could read my story. I'm trying my hand and creating my own character.
Time Runner
It's about a time traveler who starts out in the year 1945 as a WW2 pilot right after the war as ended. He gets abducted by beings who he can't identify other than their strange name the ATTA, and is sent on a mission to save the universe from a maniac who escapes through time itself.

First rough promo image I created.
Made this picture from stuff I put together from the net.

No, I haven't lost my mind. I've always wanted to try my hand at writing, and you have to start somewhere so any feedback I could get I would greatly appreciate.

Keep in mind the Time Runner is a man from 1945. He sees the world as black and white. Not very much grey. He'll shoot a villain who points a gun at him and not think twice. Not like most modern comic book heroes who always feel they have to capture the bad guys, but he's got a sense of humor not all dark and gritty like the Punisher and Batman. He just doesn't see anything wrong with defending himself.

take a look. Appreciate it.Time Runner

Thanks guys

Aero it would be cool if we could make our own comic book universe. I could have my character run into yours. The drawing thing is what's getting me. I forgot how to draw. I've gotten totally dependent on using Adobe and manipulating existing images.

I was practicing yesterday. I hate drawing hands worse than anything.

Ok, hate to seem fickle, but I've changed the name of my character to Time Rider. I think if a character is to succeed you got to progress as inspiration comes, and I just keep wanting to call him Time Rider so what the heck.

After all when Superman first came out his parents weren't named Jonathan and Martha and he had to leap over tall buildings instead of fly.

Quite creative Tim but he sounds like a cross between TimeCop, Marty McFly, the SilverSurfer and Buck Rogers. Better be careful about any copyright or plagiarism issues if want try out that stuff, mate. Maybe you should change the topic title and see if anyone else can come up with something just as creative, just a thought. The image of James Denton in what looks like modernised Lone Ranger get-up is kind of funny.

Actually, it's me with a slight adobe manipulation and a mask of course to make myself look a little different.

I would have to admit that all those old time travel stories have probably stuck in my mind when I was thinking this up. There are so many different characters and stories out there though I'm not sure it's possible to not rehash something already done.

I've done searches in imdb.com a lot and you know a lot of times you'll see like 5 different movies with the same title that are not even related.

I've got a lot of story ideas that I think are pretty original even if I am influenced by so many sci-fi movies and tv shows. It takes a long time to get them down in a visual form. I'm working on making a story in comic book form right now.

OK, sorry about that James Denton remark then. They have made live action versions of most of those characters but it would be great to see them put the Silver Surfer on the big screen. Maybe you should enter the tv show about creating your own superhero?

I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to look into it if time permits. I'll be lucky to have enough time to add to my Time Rider comic page today.

Of course if it means going on TV, I'm not too crazy about that idea. It's one thing to be on a scripted TV show, but a reality show where you have to think off the top of your head. That would be terrifying.

I guess that's what it is isn't it? .. a sort of game show.
