The cape looks like a fruit-roll up, the belt buckel looksa like a Power Ranger belt, the boots look like hoocker boots, the neck collar is to high and tight, the panties are to girly, and the colors are poopy.

The short pants is the biggest problem, and the second is the S is too small. If they just fixed the short panty look it would be at least acceptable though. __________________

Not many people do like it on this site SCLJ but I guess we are going to have to wait and see before we make our final judgement.

So most of the people on this board hate this suit? Do you think this suit might get destroyed some point in the movie, and then it gets replaced with the classic one. I mean, is this suit a special edition?

They should have used the original suit from the Reeve movies. The suit wasn't updated, it was altered.

SCLJ I like your idea, they should have the suit get destroyed on the movie and he has to go back to the old version. __________________

The old version is the best version. Somethings can be changed, and somethings can't, and the Superman Suit is one of them.

The thing is, Singer said he was going to stay faithfuly to the Reeve suit, and he didn't. I tried telling the lunk heads on the Hype board that, and they said I was making that up. Singer really said that, and he didn't deliver.

The suit is timeless, it should be left alone.

Well there is one thing about it that I feel is an insult to our intelligence, and that is the fact he keeps saying it's true to the original, and the media just repeats the press release word for word without even considering what the general opinion of the public is.
It's exactly like the kind of reporting you see when politics is being reported on. It's as if they believe if they say it enough we'll believe it. If they say it's tradtional enough times it will be so.
I even sent an email to one of the major comic book news sites pointing out the overall opionion of the new suit presented on this board, and what I got was an email basically telling me that the opionion of the fans was not news. It sure would be news if it hurt's ticket sales. It sounds almost unbelieveable, but it is almost like a conspiracy. __________________

Hey boys maybe he meant that he was going to make the suit out of the same material, not including the cape. A brighter red and a bigger S and I can live with the other changes.

You know what Buggs, I wouldn't bother with that site anymore. The people that post there, and the people that run it are idiots. Stay with this board. I hope David 33, and Bad Superman shows up.

Censorship isn't cool. The only thing I might change is too much swearing. Speaking your mind is important for exercising our freedoms. If someone is afraid for you to speak your mind they must not be too secure about their position on the matter.
So feel free to chew the fat as they used to say in the old days. __________________

Well people I read the article on bluetights.com about the suits original designer and he said it is very different from what he and his team sent to WB. Brian H. himself doesn't like the new movie suit most of all the colour scheme they used for it. He does however say that the designs they were working on were molded latex like in the Batman movies but the version they eventually went with is nothing like what his team had submitted and the 3D shield is something they created. It does make me wonder how much influence Bryan Singer did actually have on the final suit, personally, I think a lot. Go and have a read if anyone has not already done so.

Brian H.,must have had a better design then what Singer had, and Singer ruined it.

Yes SCLJ, I think it was a case of Singer not wanting to let other kids play in his sandbox when it comes to the whole project. I mean it would have been the Warner Bros, D C comics and the movie's producers who commissioned a special FX company to make a suit like the one Brian H. was doing. Then along comes the director, Singer, and looks at their better designed new suit and thinks I want the suit done my way. I hope the movie makes enough money to warrant another superman made after it but without Singer in charge.

Singer is a money hungry greedy pig. Richard Donner seriously needs to take over, and let Singer find a job in the circus.

The only thing that worries me over the project is whether or not I'm going to feel like I did watching the original Superman the Movie. Honestly, I'm a bit on the conservative side and I want a wholesome American piece. I don't want an updated liberal or super sensitve Superman. Christopher Reeve and Donner got it perfectly back in the day.
Even though the 1970's were very cynical and liberal really. The movie came out like a prequel to the Ronald Reagan Presidency. It wasn't necessarily political, but it gave you a feeling that it was ok to be a proud American from a small town. The Smallville scenes in particular were awesome. At least when I watched it I felt patriotic. Superman is always referred to as a big boy scout. I just hope he doesn't change to a big liberal talk show host.
With the rich material Singer has to work with I think the movie would be a flop if it wasn't at least as good as Spiderman. Of course I'm a huge fan of the Superman movie and as far as Im concerned Superman the movie was the best movie of all time. __________________
