There is an episode in Lois and Clark tv show, where an altenate Clark in parrallel universe did marry Lana Lang his high school crush, but Lana forbids clark to use his power, and just be average family man. When Whitney's dad gets sick, Clark steals Lana from him.  But this so alters his character he ends up working for Luthorcorp, where Lionel learns of his powers and threatens to expose him. Clark returns to Smallville to ask his parents for advice.  At the Talon, he meets a Daily Planet reporter named Lois Lane, who has been piecing together his personal history and has a theory that Clark has special powers. Next day, Lex has Lionel committed to Belle Reve.  While Clark's secret is safe, for now, he returns home to Lana and decides to go to work for the Inquistor where he and Chloe investigate strange supernatural phenomena.
