Rumors that because people in the movie audience shouted there's Superman caused George Reeves part to be shortened were said to be false by director Fred Zinnemann, screenwriter Daniel Taradash, and assistant director Earl Bellamy.  The movie involves the lives of army personnel in Hawaii right before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Other stars of the film include Donna Reed, Frank Sinatra, and Ernest Borgnine.
