Jensen Ackles was born March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. He has an older brother, Joshua, and a younger sister, Mackenzie. He began modeling as a child at age 4. In high school, he played baseball and lacrosse. He considered studying sports medicine at Texas Tech University, but decided to move to Los Angeles to try out acting. Jensen's first major role was as Eric Brady on "Days of Our Lives". He also starred on "Dark Angel" and "Dawson's Creek".

Jensen is slated to get a starring role on the pilot for a new WB show, "Supernatural". The pilot is being prepared as a possible companion piece to Smallville.
